         <description><![CDATA[<div>Resources: Butter by Erin Lange</div><div>Students: 8th graders, 13-14 years old<br>I have been trying different activities and approaches to all these topics over the last couple of years, but I will just tell you about an eTwinning project I am involved in right now based on the book Butter by Erin Lange. This book deals with cyberbullying and fake profiles among other teen-related issues, so it was a great start for discussing and developing several tasks around those two areas.&nbsp;<br>At the same time, students are taught about copyright, reliable sources, online tools and many other aspects while doing their work. It's been a great experience so far with the added bonus that they are enjoying reading in English!</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I've been trying to implement these ativities in my curriculum but it is definitely not easy. For sure, I could do more to introduce media literacy to my students. <br>Here is the first part of a two hour&nbsp; lesson that I organized last year for my 14 years old pupils.<br><br><strong>topic:</strong> Identifying high quality sites.<br><strong>title:</strong> "That's impossible!" Science on Youtube.<br><strong>Lesson plan:</strong><br>Starting from the lithography by <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M._C._Escher">M.C. Escher</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waterfall_(M._C._Escher)">Waterfall </a>(1961), an&nbsp; impossible building that works as a perpetual motion machine, Pupils &nbsp; will watch a video on YouTube that shows an impressive amount of very simple machines that seem to work as perpetual motion machines thus violating a fundamental physics law.&nbsp;<br>The aim of the lesson is to make the students understand that videos&nbsp; published on YouTube aren't always trustworthy. Be sure to check for high quality sources of information!</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Title: Moral Compass</div><div>Ages: 13 - 18 years</div><div><br></div><div>One activity that I like to do has the title “Moral Compass”. This is an original idea of CPDLab eSafety Comenius Course in which I participated on the setting up phase.</div><div><br></div><div>This activity consist on making questions to the audience and let the students take a place near one of the eight possible answers: Correct, wrong, I’m not sure if its wrong, It depends, As long as I'm not caught, What's the problem?, It is an individual choice, I don’t know. These options are previously spread in the room walls like “compass rose”.</div><div><br></div><div>The questions may fit into the different suggested topics, such as: Relationship communication, cyberbullying, digital footprint reputation and Internet Safety.</div><div><br></div><div>Once the students are distributed by the different answers, a debate begins on the different positions taken.</div>]]></description>

Already from the name you can imagine that is a copy of Facebook where you can create fictitious profiles of historical figures educational purposes. For this, however, teachers activities will create a fake profile, posing as a friend and getting in touch with the guys, try to access their personal informations (phone number, home, etc ...). Pupils have joined an eT project about bullying and cyberbulling so they are not new to the topic of surfing the net in a responsible way. <br>I would show them a short movie about the legendary Guy Fawkes who surfs the net and while he creates an event and put it "private", his friends think it might be nice that everyone knows about this event. They must put attention to cyberbullies’ emotions,  victims’ emotions and bystander’s emotions.
