Hello! This is my first padlet!
------------------------------------
Journal 1:
I am entering the field of Early Childhood Education because I am interested in learning more about the development and education that children receive. I want to look from the outside ends and draw connections to what I learned as a child and how that may have played a role in who I am today. I have some experience around children and want to understand the development they go through and type of education they receive for general knowledge. I am also considering potential career paths and possibly may work with children in the future.
-------------------------------------
Journal 2:
Diversity is very important because it will help us learn and understand other people while lessening the unconscious bias within us. The TedTalk by Meyers made great points about what we can do to help diversity flourish. We can expand our social circle, make connections, and be advocates for one another. We can take a step by having the courage to uphold diversity in the face of racism. I would support diversity in my work by encouraging making connections with others through collaboration and effective communications. I would create a community where everyone can engage, learn, and connect with one another in a friendly atmosphere with a focus on diversity. I would also have workshops that allow children to learn about the different cultures of our world and the impact many people of all cultures have made for future generations.
--------------------------------------
Journal 3:
The features of teaching young children I find most interesting is observation and formative assessment. I think it's great that as a teacher, I can observe the child's actions for what they are and get an understanding of what they are doing from watching them. I also think it is helpful and interesting that I can use formative assessment, such as asking a child to identify a fruit and vegetable in an activity. This is a great wat to monitor learning and provide ongoing feedback. These features help me understand the current stage the child is at and be able to assess their development.
