I think that in Italy (even in other countries) any repetitive purchase linked to objects defined as "feminine" or for women, is somewhat targeted by insults/jokes or reduced to something superficial.

An example can be something simple like concerts ticket and albums; spending too much on a boy band or on artist that is associated with a female audience is seen as a obsessive behavior while at the same time a man can spent a tons of money for a football game at the stadium and is seen as perfectly normal

In Germany, when women buy things like handbags, jewelry, or go to a spa, people sometimes see it as selfish or unnecessary. But when men spend money on cars or electronics, it is more often accepted as a normal hobby or a sign of success.

In Korea, blaming women’s consumption is highly related to ‘term’ like Modern girl. In the middle of 1990, they’re called ‘된장녀‘. It blames women who over-spend on conspicuous luxuries. But you know, men also(or more) buy luxuries!

And, ‘빠순이’ is also an example of this. The word criticize idol-fans(women) who purchase albums and goods a lot to go fanmeeting. But men also consume things like collecting Game items, Figures and Jorden shoes etc.

In Korea, women who do pilates have sometimes been targets of mockery. Because pilates has high class fee, women doing pilates are often stereotyped as engaging in a show-off activity, bluffing, or going mainly to take photos for social media. Like this, even women's self investment in exercise become a target of critism and mockery.
