#Task 7: Do you agree that the steam engine was the greatest invention of the Industrial Revolution?

I believe the most important inventions from the Industrial Revolution were both the railroads and the steam locomotive (which is basically a steam engine over wheels). They decreased the unemployement, also allowed cultural blending and transportation. Workers' life got way easier and it is until now, thanks to railroads and the steam locomotive. On the other hand, the steam locomotive would not be possible without the steam engine, meaning that the steam locomotive would not move without the steam engine and the railroads would not be necessary, so yes, the steam engine was the most important invention, since it was what allowed very important inventions to happen.

Today was the first day of work of the week. I work with the machinery. This time I had to work carefully because last week I almost lost a finger. The machines are fast, heavy and dangerous. I'm lucky I didn't end up like Beth, she lost her whole hand because she got a little distracted.

It's the second day of the week and I am already exhausted. I work a lot, my mom and dad say I have no choice, that's how it goes. I worked for 17 hours, and only had one break. I swear that I won't let my children go to work, it's terrible.

Today is the third day, and this little boy, Ethan, passed out. He was hungry, but he wasn't allowed to eat, so he got very sick. We think it's a disease, but we are not very sure, doctors are expensive, and it's probably correct. It is impossible not to get sick in our town.

The fourth day, my back hurts so bad. I can't stop but think of when I saw this dead cat laying on the street. Terrifying. I remembered of snowflakes. My kitten. It died because we couldn't afford to buy him food since dad got his salary lowered again. I hope mine doesn't like it did last month, otherwise I think I'm going to visit Mr. Snowflakes.

It's the fifth day, a woman's baby died inside her belly, but she couldn't stop working, otherwise her salary would be cut for the day. We could hear her low sobs, and it felt like she was swimming in a bloody river, it smelled bad. I'm thankful it didn't happen to mommy, at least I think so.

The sixth day, my eyes hurt. The lights were flickering and my eyes were very uncomfortable. Logan cried today, poor little boy, he said it felt like being blind because he couldn't see anything after an hour of flickering lights. I felt bad for him but I kept focused on my work, I don't want to disappoint mom and dad again.

Also with the production of goods, there is also more trade, which causes people to go to the city for trading or taking the production of goods, or selling resources. Oliver runs away from the workhouse and also from a local undertaker when he attacks another apprentice who was making fun of his mother. Miserable, Oliver meets Jack Dawkins, a boy his age, who offers him a shelter in the London house of his benefactor, Fagin, who is a criminal who trains boys to steal. Oliver, after being trained is sent to his first theft, and when sees the other boys stealing, he gets horrified and runs away. Olive gets caught, but escapes again, now being found by Mr. Brownlow, the man who got the handkerchief stolen by the boys, the scene that horrified Oliver so much. Mr. Brownlow takes care of Oliver. Two boys from Fagin's gang capture Oliver back, and he is sent to watch a boy in a burglary. There Oliver gets shot and his friend escapes. The woman who shot him takes care of him, and he goes on a trip with them to the countryside, while Fagin's gang is planning on capturing the little boy back. Oliver finds out his mom left him a golden locket, which a boy from Fagin's gang, Monks, destroys. Later, a woman finds out the plan and tells the daughter of the woman who's taking care of Oliver, Rose, all about it, but a gang boy overhears it, kills her, and because of guilt, hangs himself. Mr.Brownlow reunites with Oliver, and confronts Monks until he finds out Monks is Oliver's half-brother, and Rose is Oliver's aunt. Mr. Brownlow finally adopts Oliver, and they live a happily ever after.
