Pasos para que escuchar en inglés sea más fácil

Si eres de esos a los que escuchar inglés se les resiste, no te preocupes, solo necesitas seguir un método definido para que el listening deje de ser un problema.

  •  No intentes entenderlo todo. Uno de los errores más comunes es intentar escuchar y entender cada palabra, lo que se convierte sobre todo al principio en una tarea imposible. No pasa absolutamente nada si no entiendes cada palabra de lo que se dice. Lo importante es que comiences por entender cuál es el tema de lo que se hable, y cuáles son las ideas que se exponen.
  •  Escucha cosas que te gusten. Es importante disfrutar de aquello que se escucha, así nuestros oídos estarán más predispuestos a escuchar y entender. Una de las actividades con las que más se aprende es escuchando música en inglés. Elige tu canción o artista favorito y escucha las letras con detenimiento.
  •  Intenta escuchar a personas que hablen con diferentes acentos. Depende de cada uno, pero por lo general, unos acentos se nos resisten más que otros. Sobre todo si tenemos la costumbre de oír un acento determinado. Intenta variar al máximo y escuchar no sólo el acento británico, también el irlandés, el norteamericano, etc.
  •  Utiliza las transcripciones. Ahora mismo, el acceso a materiales en inglés para practicar es muy sencillo y variado. Si tu nivel todavía no es muy avanzado, leer las transcripciones de los podcast te ayudará a seguir lo que se dice.
  •  Escúchalo varias veces. A lo mejor no entiendes algo a la primera, pero puede que lo entiendas a la segunda o a la tercera.
  •  Utiliza auriculares si lo necesitas. Sobre todo al principio, los auriculares serán tu gran aliado. Es común que a veces la escucha y la comprensión de lo que se oye se vean afectadas por el volumen o el ruido ambiente. Si quieres sacarle el máximo partido a tu listening, utiliza auriculares.
  •  Toma notas. Escuchar inglés para aprender vocabulario, pronunciación, gramática es fundamental. Cuando escuches algo que te llame la atención, bien por cómo se pronuncia una palabra, porque te llama la atención la estructura de la frase, o porque se menciona alguna palabra en inglés que no conozcas, toma notas y revísalas de forma periódica. Esto te ayudará mucho.
 

Un último consejo: no te limites a escuchar inglés grabado. Además, debes intentar implicarte en diferentes actividades en inglés para que no todo tu listening proceda de la radio, la música, o los podcasts. Hablar y escuchar a personas en directo, te harán agudizar tu ingenio y mejorar tu nivel de inglés en todos los sentidos.
