Monique's Mistake Turned Great Experience

I interviewed three school professionals. A special education teacher, a support staff member, and a general education teacher. I apparently did not read the assignment closely, simply because I had each interviewee answer the questions for 1-10 for each column (collaboration, co-teaching, and consultation). I can say that I have learned more than I expected having had all three columns completed. Once I realized my mistake, I had each professional choose which column they would have chosen and answered. The results are based on each individual picking which answer they preferred.

Collaborate

The one word that has all three professionals in accordance is collaboration. During each interview, I feel that each person had already spoke to the next for how to respond. Ms. Minor who co-teaches still found herself leaning to collaboration as the key in our students lives, and in the field of education. I chose Ms. Minor thinking that she would be bias, and focus on co-teaching, but all but one of her responses were on collaboration , and it's importance. She felt that collaboration was the key basis around co-teaching and consulting. Ms. Muchorski had almost the same responses, besides feeling that she would have gained more, from more hands on training. Ms. Muchorski has experience in a high school setting, as well as an elementary setting, so I chose to interview her for this reason. . She expressed that collaboration is needed throughout the schools no matter the grade, it is a prime factor in succeeding. Ms. Hiral has to collaborate, as well as consult in her position. I wanted to learn what she feels is important to her, being that she assists in the classroom. She too stated that collaboration is a huge factor when she has to do her job. She has to be available and able to speak with the teachers and additional outside team members when discussing her students. She collaborates on a daily basis and said that collaboration is how her day goes smooth.
