The TPACK Framework provides an outlook on how technology can be integrated into the classroom. It focuses largely on Technological, Pedagogical, and Content Knowledge that puts the responsibility on the teachers being able to integrate the technology, rather than focusing on the impact that the technology has on students' learning.

The TIM Framework

The TIM Framework focuses on five characteristics of meaningful learning environments, specifically emphasizing how technology should be used in the classroom. The goal is to be able to achieve all five characteristics inside the classroom. The focus on the sophistication of technology integration inside the classroom loses focus on students' learning goals and how to effectively measure the impact it has on student learning.

The SAMR Model

The SAMR Model provides teachers with an explanation regarding how their specific technological integrations are being utilized to change learning. It is broken down into 4 different types of technology. Unfortunately, the SAMR Model seems to depict a hierarchy of technology integration that emphasizes the need for teachers to be more complex with their technology choices. It does not directly address students' learning goals.

The Triple E Framework

The Triple E Framework emphasizes the importance of the students' learning first. The technology choice comes after the primary focus is put on the students' learning needs, aiming at creating authentic engagement through technology integration. The Triple E is based on Engagement of learning goals, Enhancement of learning goals, and Extension of learning goals, with the goal of teachers being being able to implement all 3 components for an effective lesson.

Connecting All Technology Frameworks

All technology frameworks have a clear understanding that technology tools can be implemented inside the classroom, with the intention of benefitting students' learning. The TPACK, TIM, and SAMR models all have the understanding of how teachers should use technology. They all focus on the tools themselves. The SAMR and TIM models put the technology tools first and the students' learning goals second. The Triple E Framework incorporates the responsibility of the teachers for technology integration (TPACK), how the technology should be implemented to create a meaningful learning environment (TIM), and extent to which technology integration can shape learning (SAMR) to put student learning goals above any and all technology integration.
