I come from a family of Mexican origin. I grew up in a trailer park in South Carolina; I ended up moving to North Carolina, where I currently reside. My culture surrounds our food, music, celebrations, traditions, etc. I have always kept that part of me close to me as it is a huge part of my identity.

If I could be any animal, I would choose to be a cat. I have always dreamed of owning a cat. To me, all kinds of cats are fierce animals that give off feminine energy. They are beautiful and I would be honored to be one.

Of all of the people in my life, the two that have influenced me the most are my parents. Through their sacrifices, they have taught me that I should always be grateful and fight to have a good life, as they did for myself and my siblings. They have always been my rock to lean on and I value everything that they have done for me.

My biggest fear is losing my support system, which would be my family and friends. I am afraid of losing them because they are the reason I am able to maintain stability within my life. You always need a support system in your life to keep you up and going. Without them, I would have no one to lean on and vent to when times get tough.

One skill an effective leader must have is problem solving; they should be able to come up with rapid solutions for obstacles. Another skill an effective leader must have is being able to properly communicate as communication is very important for tasks to get done and groups to remain on track. Lastly, an effective leader should have the skill of motivating others; this would allow the group being led to push themselves and do better.

I hope to learn different skills for leadership as well as ways to feel more confident and motivated. I believe that with a well-rounded and confident leader, anything can be done. Developing new skills and a new mindset would allow me to be a better leader when needed.
