Recent campus enrollment data shows an increased demand for wellness support among college students who are caregivers, as they balance multiple roles. This group will aim to support caregiving students' mental health, general wellness, and preserve motivation for continued enrollment through college.

Students will meet for a total of 6 weeks in the Northwest Vista College campus library study rooms. Meetings will last for one hour and can be attended in person or via Zoom.

M1 Belief in development of the whole self, including a healthy balance of mental, social/emotional, and physical well-being (American School Counselor Association, 2021).

The therapeutic group "Caring for Caregivers" is designed to empower group members by emphasizing the importance of prioritizing their overall wellness. Group participants will have the opportunity to learn about effective strategies for managing the demands of their various roles while maintaining a healthy balance. This group aims to promote self-care awareness and provide practical tools for caregivers to support not only those they care for but also themselves.

M3 Positive attitude toward work and learning (American School Counselor Association, 2021).
Participants will employ strategies discussed during group sessions to assess and evaluate their attitudes toward caregiving, education, and overall wellness. Given that burnout often plays a significant role among caregivers, it is essential to recognize that attitudes can greatly influence motivation in various areas they seek to improve.

M5 Belief in using abilities to their fullest to achieve high-quality results and outcomes (American School Counselor Association, 2021).

Student caregivers and the quality of their input can have a significant impact on various outcomes. By enhancing their skills in fostering success, we can create positive effects on educational results, the quality of care, and their ability to recognize symptoms of burnout or fatigue.

All participants will be college students. Those who are over 18 will provide their own forms. Participants under 18 will need parental consent.

Group participants may find shared experiences can aid in reducing feelings of isolation and foster connection with one another.

The aim would be for group members to feel empowered by supporting one another through the meetings.

The meeting may provide encouragement and help caregivers feel a sense of purpose, value, and validation.
