Nick Carraway proposes a meeting for both of them after a startling meeting with Gatsby the night before in front of the lit up mansion.

During this time, the meeting of the two main characters was intriguing enough even without the song. The lyrics helps show the eventful night between Jay Gatsby and Daisy as fun "in the evening" as things become more "sure and nothing surer".

This influences the mood of what Fitzgerald tired to capture for the readers.

"Selfish" by PnB Rock really expands on the novel's description for the moonstrucked feelings related for Daisy. The lyrics above proves how someone can get attached to another person by wanting to keep them all to their self. In chapter 6, Gatsby plays the song to incorporate the truth for moving and throwing parties.

My chain hits my chest

I'm banging on the dashboard"

"Bad Girls" composed by M.I.A. shares the feeling of being free and enjoying life while anyone can. This can compare to the song "Ain't We Got Fun" from Van and Schenck it states that all of the unfortunate events in life can be turned into something greater. Even after the time spent apart for Gatsby and Daisy, they finally came back together by "liv(ing) fast". By using this song it still incorporates the mood of "cheerful".

But like the sun know you know I found my way back round"

The desire overall mood for chapter 8 is any synonymy for depressing. fro Daisy state of not having GAtsby caused this mood. "Crooked Smile" sung by J. Cole expresses how someone who brings you down ultimately brings you back up for better and new occurrences. As the song, "Beale Street Blue" by Chris Barber, is played the actual song sounds happy but the lyrics have a deeper meaning which "Crooked Smile" also includes.
