We decided that making our film a hybrid was the better idea so that we wouldn't have to consider boundaries when it came to the narrative. Our initial chosen genre was thriller but we knew we wanted to incorporate aspects of the horror genre. Our main horror aspect is the theme of a curse throughout and people being followed and threatened. We then decided to form a hybrid film.

We took inspiration from the film 'Se7en' (1995) for our title sequence. We liked the idea of creating a mysterious character and keeping a hidden identity throughout the sequence. In the title sequence for 'Se7en', hands are shown in the shots quite shakily to create a certain mood for the film and upholding a theme of mystery. We thought that this film was very well made and presented the thriller genre really well consistently throughout. We liked how the film's narrative has a mysterious plot and had a constant theme of darkness and obscurity.
