This image reveals Puritanism where their belief is that church is set first and along with that, they have developed rules in cultures that still exist today. The Puritans would go against any idea that would break their radical lifestyle. They would even shun another church that acted on divorce. The belief that church should control government and not vice versa was heavily pushed.

There were beliefs that were exposed by the Puritans including the idea of total depravity. This is the concept that everyone born has been made a sinner from birth. Predestination is another belief in Puritanism where everyone is determined to go to heaven or hell without control over it. With no confirmation, people lived with great insecurity. This concept gave a few issues rising hysteria in witchcraft.

Any occurrence of a conflict or an inconvenience was put upon and blamed to the devil by the Puritans. They believed that the devil was alive and well, walking in secret within
their society. The Puritans became convinced of the devil and its acts. With this, they lived unhappily and with misfortune around them. The Natives had found about their perspectives and intents so they turned their back on them.

There was a convenience in witchcraft to be used for selfish intentions. Tituba influenced young and impressionable teenagers that were being shown black magic. The youth were infamous and when serious matters were pushed, they blamed it back to Tituba. A separate story is about one farmer having issues with another farmer about their lands. The issue continued and it ended where the first farmer accused the second farmer of witchcraft because of his stomach, this reveals an easy excuse to get back at someone.

Arthur Miller was a playwright and was most famous for refusing to give evidence before the House Un-America Activities Committee. Miller had been caught in a 'witch hunt" situation. He was accused as a communist in court and he became a blank to everyone around him after that. Anyone related to or friends with Miller were immediately assumed to be a communist as well. Later on, Miller had created "The Crucible" revealing the witch hunt of the Salem Witch Trials and revealing the message of the truth of society.
