I: When this cartoon was made, reconstruction had ended and it was made for an audience that is against slavery. In this cartoon, it shows the life of slaves, but above Lincoln's head, it shows the life he believed slaves should have. This cartoon is based on the issue of slavery and the cartoonist's opinion matches Lincoln's, that slavery should be abolished.
C: After Reconstruction ended, Lincoln and many abolitionists tried to help slaves receive the treatment and justice that they deserved. The emancipation proclamation was one way to try to free slaves, which was made by Abraham Lincoln.
