The first day of work. The place I choose to work and to complete my SIEP report is the YumCha Tea Bar Ipoh. The reason I choose this place is because my friend as the manager is working there and he told me there is lack of employees to work so he ask me to work as a part timer until they get some new full time employees. I work as morning shift with the manager due to I am still new to the working environment, so the manager able to lead me and explain the procedure of the opening work so I can learn it as soon as possible in order to make me feel comfortable and know what to do when working as morning shift. Basically, the opening procedure is quite easy, it just need to clean and mop the floor, rearrange the tables and chairs, count the cash in the cashier drawer and lastly cooking the pearl as known as boba for all type of milk tea drinks. After done the opening, I introduce myself to all  workmates as breaking the ice between us and this make me easier to ask them for help when I facing some problems.

The second day of work. The manager gave me a working schedule and he set my schedule as morning shift part timer which means I will incharge of the opening throughout my working days here. I felt quite nice because I feel more comfortable and not tired when work in morning shift, the shift end at 6.30pm everyday and I can back home for family dinner everyday. Today the manager ask me to try for the preparation of tea. We have 3 types of tea here which is the black tea, green tea, and the butterfly pea flower tea. For the every 33gram of black tea we use 1 litter of hot water to warm it and rest for 5 minutes than filter 8 times to make sure no remaining tea leaf inside the black tea. Then, for every 20gram of the green tea we use 1 litter of hot water and rest for 4 minutes and filter 2 times. Last but not least, the butterfly pea flower tea, in order to make sure the colour of the flower tea is nice we use 20gram of the butterfly pea flower and warm it with 1 litter of hot water and rest for 20 minutes then filter 1 time to clear the flowers inside the tea. This is the procedure of making this 3 type of tea for further use when making drinks.

Third day of work. Today I will learning how to cook boba. There is 3 type of boba which is the butterfly pea flower boba, golden boba and the classic boba which is the black boba. The duration of cooking all this 3 type if boba is the same which is 45minutes. Firstly, after the water is boiled, pour all of the boba into the water and let it boiled again after that set the electronic cooker into medium heat and set the timer to 45 minutes. This procedure use on 3 type of boba, the only thing different is for the butterfly pea boba we need to put a total of 20gram of flower into the water and cook with the white boba so that the white boba will become blue in colour after well cooked. After l the butterfly pea flower and golden boba is done, we will put them in a container and soak with white sugar syrup. For the black boba, we soak with brown sugar syrup.

Fourth day of work. After 2 day of rest day, I return to work and normally there will have 2 morning shift worker work for the opening, however the manager is work in afternoon shift so today I will do all the opening work myself. I reach the work place 30 minutes early and start the work early to ensure all the work is done before the business hour. I check all the chiller and make sure there is no remaining tea to use, so today I need to make all 3 type of tea and also cook the boba as usual because we only use fresh boba. While waiting for the boba to cook, I mop the floor and clean all the mirrors with some liquid chemical. Although I work alone, but I manage to finish all the work suppose to do before the business hour. So today I will start learning how to make drinks by referring to the SOP. I jot down some note in order easier for me to remember the SOP and work more efficient.

Fifth day of work. Usually I have done learning all the work procedure and familiar will the working environment. So all the opening work is the same, making teas and cooking boba and then there is nothing to do but just wait for the customer to visit the shop. Unfortunately, the weather today is not nice, it is a raining day start from 11am to 3pm. This will definitely affect the sales today, there is totally no customer until 4pm. Before I end my shift, my senior visit the outlet and I make drink for him. Today sales is the lowest since I work at here, it decreased around 2 times compared to normal day sales.

Sixth day of work. Today is stock count day. The manager told me we need to take out every stock in the outlet and record how many stock we have. This is because the company need to know how many the stock left and check whether the stock is synchronize with the sales of the outlet. So today will be a busy day. Today I will handle the cashier post, so before I following the manager to count stock, I need to finish setting the cashier machine and make sure the amount of the cash in the drawer is same as the record last night.After done the opening work and finish our breakfast, we start counting the stock in the store room first, then only we count stock which have being moved to the bar. The manager assigned me to count the stock of the bobas, teas, biscuit, toast and the plastic cup and straw while he will incharge of counting the milk, syrups and other ingredients. We spent around 2 hours to count stock in the store room. Then we take a break after another worker come to work. we went to have lunch together at nearby cafe house, after finish our meal we continue back to work without spent all of the rest time because we worry about not enough time to finish counting all stock today. After back to the outlet, we move out some light weight stock part by part in order to count it accurately without mistake and miscount any one of the stock.

Today the outlet will launching a series of new drinks. There is total of 4 type of new drinks which is the red, green, orange and pink rabbit milk tea. The outlet manager will teach us the SOP of making this 4 types of drinks. The red rabbit milk tea is included of the red bean paste, the syrup of white rabbit brand candy and milk. The green rabbit milk tea is replace the red bean paste with japanese matcha while the pink rabbit milk tea is the strawberry syrup and the orange rabbit milk tea is add fresh orange juice to the milk tea.

Around one month I been working in the outlet, the boss of the company accepted an food fair event in Johor Bharu, The Absolute Food Festival 2019 which is one of the biggest food festival in Malaysia. This event held on 6th of November to 8th of November. Since I still have time before going back to UMK, I able to follow them to work in this event. Before the event day, we went to Kuala Lumpur which is the another outlet to collect all the ingredients we need and we called a lorry to help us transport all the materials to the event place for set up to ready for the next day event. After we start driving from Kuala Lumpur to Johor Bharu, we reach the event place around 6pm then we start to setting up the environment we need to make sure our operation is smooth and without clash. We finish all the set up at 11pm night, after that we have dinner with all of the event crew and going back to hostel for rest.

The first day of the event. As the organizer said, it is one of the biggest food fair event, the whole event combined more than 180 different types of foods, snacks, and beverages. When the event start, the whole area is surrounded by visitors, most of the stalls having a long queue, same goes to our stall. Our stall is selling milk tea, oden and also korean fried chicken. I incharge in milk tea section with another work mate. It didt have extra time for us to rest, so we just buy some foods from stall beside us and we take turn to eat some food and continue back to the work. After a long business hour, we wash all the machine and clean our area before leaving.

The last day of the event. We woke up at 8am in the morning to prepare the ingredient we need as passed 2 days. We will separate into 2 team, 1 team will going to event place as usual and I will stay at the hostel to cook boba before going to the event place. I spent around 3 hours to completely cook 15kg of the boba which is just enough for the event use. After I done, the manager will come back to the hostel and fetch me go to the event place. Due to today is the last day of the event, so there was not busy as last 2 days, we still have some time to take a break. Today we close our stall 1 hour early because we need to send all the unused ingredients, machine and also some chiller back to Kuala Lumpur. So after we close our stall, some of us will do some cleaning and some of us will start moving the remaining ingredient and chillers back on lorry. We finish our work at 12am.
