My name is Nur Izzati Syamimi Binti Aman (A14A1375). Hospitality student from University of Malaysia Kelantan. I am doing my internship at Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia, Kelantan. Tomorrow is my first day, can't wait for it ;)

At 8.30 am, I was briefed a little bit about MOTAC by supervisor Mr. Zaidi. After that, Ms. Mastura introduced me to their regular staff, contract staff, and also other industrial training students that are working there. She also bring me for a short tour around the office while waiting for the director of MOTAC Kelantan.

After lunch, I and my companions were called to meet the director Mr. Aidil Hafizi for second briefing session. Thus, at 5 o’clock I was allowed to go home. 

Besides, I have also registered fingerprints for the purpose of attendance and return in the office. With that, every presence will be recorded and we must keep good in record time.

The staff at this office also gave me a lot of guidance. I will learn how much knowledge as possible in this office from time to time.

Before the meeting members come, the room should be cleaned first. Tables and chairs need to be wiped with a wet towel. The floors need to be swept and dipped. This meeting room has a large desk and there are complete with facilities such as air conditioner, microphone and LCD.

After that, I continue with my work to keep the counter as a task schedule provided.

Before waiting for my duty, I asked workers here if there was work for me to do or not. However, they say there is no work for the moment and if they have a job they will call me. Therefore, I swept the floor, wiped the dust, and arranged all the files and paper in the room that placed all the industrial training students.

When my turn to keep the counter, I have received a lot of letters from travel agents that needed to be verified by the officer. My job is only helping the officer to stamp and keep the record of that letter into log book.

Since today is Thursday, I'm back early at 3.30 pm.

Today I am not doing much work because there is no work in the office. Plus, today is a bit quiet because of the many staff working out of the area like in Jeli to handle an event.

When it comes to my time at the front counter, I need to manage some things like recording the incoming mail into the log book. Besides, I also need to answer a phone call. as today, I need to answer a call from travel agency to confirm that licensing from the company is already ready to be processed or not. From there, I need to learn how to answer a phone call prudently and know what customers want.

Besides, the task table keeping the counter has changed. This is because, some other industrial training students have been given another assignment and they are no longer in charge of keeping the counter in front of the office. This other task is given by the director in the office.

In addition, at 11 am I was called into the director's room. I was given the responsibility to be under the industrial development unit to help the staff complete their work. I feel excited to work with them under one team.

My schedule to keep the counter today is at 2:30 until 3.30. Today is Thursday and government workers can return early at 3.30.

When I was in charge of keeping a counter, I received many phone calls from the travel agency. I am responsible for connecting the call to the employee concerned.

Since today is the first day in March, I have received an employee time card from HR. This time card shows our presence in that last month.

In the morning, I was assigned to go upstairs to enter a room that places all the company files and documents. This room is always closed and locked because it is a private and confidential company. I was directed by Mr. Hafifi to retrieve files from Labaik travel and tours.

 

As always, at 1 o’clock I break and got lunch and zuhur prayer. At 2 o'clock I went back into the office to continue my work on duty at counter.

This morning, I have received many tourist guide exemption forms from Naza Travel & Tours. The exemption need to checked, stamped and signed by Encik Syafiq and Puan Nik Nurliyana.

I give a hand to help the staff to pack all the goodies as in the picture. The goodies will be given to the minister and others who will be there as well. 

The office seems so quiet after all the staff left after lunch. I keep my duty at the counter until 3.30 pm. 

At 7.50am I arrived at the office and thumbprint, I have some work to do regarding the tentative Trip To Narathiwat. I need to retype all the itinerary in words to be printed and give out to the members that join that event.

After done all of the work, I continue to do my paperwork regarding to the culture performance the colors of Kelantan. Since the due date is tomorrow, so I tend to finish all the write up to the ending. 

After that, I continued to stamp the exemption of tour guide application form at the counter. This form is very important to bring when they are on their journey from one destination to another destination. This is because if the bus doesn't have this form, they will be compound by SPAD. 

I started the task by searcing for more information about Heritage Kelantan on google. 

The purpose of the task is to let me know and understand more about Kelantanese culture and art.
