Classical Conditioning: Type of learning where a neutral stimulus becomes associated with a meaningful stimulus, eventually triggering a similar response.

Anecdote: At the beginning of the school year, I had no idea when the bell rang so I just packed up right when the bell rang. The next day, I remembered what time and from then I always packed a few minutes ahead because I had developed this in my long-term memory.

Operant Conditioning: A type of learning in which the frequency of a behavior depends on the consequences that follows that behavior.

Anecdote: Sometimes I fight a lot with my brothers and get a positive punishment of sitting in a corner for a few minutes. After this, I try to not fight with them as much and ignore them more so I avoid getting in trouble.

Social Observational Learning: Learning from watching the behavior of other people.

Anecdote: When I was little, I wanted to learn baseball so my dad would take me to the park and show me how to swing and catch. From then, I was able to play in a league because of my experience and practice.

Positive reinforcement: When I was on a road trip with my family, my brother was complaining about how bored it was and my parents were getting very annoyed so they gave him headphones to listen to music. As a result, he shuts up and is more satisfied.

Negative reinforcement: At home, my brother was on his iPad and was stressing over a game. He was warned to stop but didn't so his iPad was taken and he starts to complain more.

Positive punishment: My two brothers were fighting over a bag of chips and as a result, both of them are taken to their room and were told to stay for 10 minutes. After, they learn their lesson and try not to fight again.

Ex 2. I was playing Fortnite with my friends and was told to be quiet because my dad was sleeping. I couldn’t be quiet so my dad came out and started yelling and spanking me with a belt. From then on, I kept it more quiet and didn't play as much at night so I wasn’t as likely for this to happen again.

Negative punishment: I was starting to fail my classes because I wasn’t completing my homework and instead hanging out with friends and playing a bunch of video games. My parents found out and took it away until my grades would start to go back up.

Retrieval and spacing processes are becoming a great way of education with certain courses in school and can help you when studying in college. These strategies are seen as a great tool for psychology, physiology, and anatomy. Retrieving was more common being seen in more studies than spacing. Students in these classes sometimes take multiple choice assessments which they use cued recall to help them process their memory. This was much better compared to the use of free class. These will also help students when studying something related to these courses in college making them more successful when pursuing their career. These strategies are a great way for recognition, your short-term memory and long-term memory, and automatic encoding.

In our everyday life, we are using the learning theory for multiple things. We use it when in school, when playing a sport, and when doing stuff around the house. This theory involves many psychology perspectives like behavioral, biological, cognitive, humanistic, psychodynamic, and sociocultural self. This is especially important when interacting with other people around us who can affect how we behave or what we do. Sometimes, you can get in trouble just yourself or with a group of people and it’s important to learn the consequences so you don’t do it again and don’t face any problems in life that can make you upset or not live the lift you want. How you behave and what you do is sort of key to daily life and can impact your future.
