On this island, we have forested, mountainous areas as long with fertile soil for farming. Trading our goods are a good source of income for our island. They items are necessities to this economy, without trade to countries... we could have a lower income rate. This is a Traditional Economy based island, which means the citizens guide and rule the island. It focuses the citizens on bartering and trading. The citizens are to produce everything needed for the economy. Farming, mining, fishing, etc goes towards this act. We have to make sure we obtain and produce enough goods for not only exports but also for ourselves. We have resources such as gold, lumber, our natural gases, oil, and our variety of fruits, vegetables, and fish. It isn’t easy to obtain these resources; It requires a lot of labor. Our main resources come from trading, farming, fishing, mining, and forestry. I believe I would want to bring/have different machinery to help efficiently speed up the producing of goods. Such as agricultural machines, tractors, plow, tree trimmer, etc. Also for mining, excavators, drills, etc. These can all help with the production of our resources go a lot quicker and more smoothly. This is due to citizens producing/creating their own goods. They also rule over their services which they provide not only to themselves, but also others. Citizens rely on the income of trading. My grandparents live in Clymer, Pennsylvania. (a tiny town in PA) The Amish provide for themselves without electricity, farming, making their own clothes, etc. It has raised them to fend for themselves with no complaint. They ‘stick out’ to us because we are reliant on electricity and society while they are focused on living the life of the independent. When you think about it are we ever independent when we do not on rely on the necessities of life? Unlike the Amish, we have become accustomed to the life of wants and needs. The Amish are inspiring to me because of their gentle way of looking at the world. It forces them to see the reality with their own 5 senses instead of through a screen of pixels. They are family-oriented just like a Traditional Economy should be, working together to defeat anything and support one another.  I believe my island will be a successful long term because of our citizens being strong when working together to strengthen and hold the economy together. When working together, citizens may get tired of all the labor that goes into holding a Traditional Economy together. It also limits us to our options, we become isolated to the few resources we have if we import nothing. We could have a lower quality towards our life, with little health tools, treatments, etc. We rely so much on the geography of our land that when the climate changes or natural disasters occur, we could have a shortage of supplies if not prepared. It also isolates us to the people we have in our community instead of bringing people together, we have ourselves... just our one big/small family. Although it can be a tough economy to maintain without a government, it is a family-based economy (always working together). It can keep things easily in order and simple. We use everything we have, we do not waste resources for goods and services which are unnecessary.
