Not trust to learn, learning is a passive process
Follow orders, Right answers are  what the school wants
hide curiosity
ugly, cold, and inhuman.

Holt’s recommendations 

makes the necessary changes, correct students
Help students find a way to get the right answer.
Measure students’ own understanding
