Students will be able to identify the regions being coast, desert, mountain, and Central Valley. (ex. Students create a brochure highlighting 4 different National Parks in California. Each National Park will represent a different California region. Channel Islands National Park- the coast; Death Valley National Park- the desert; Yosemite National Park- the mountains, and Lassen Volcanic National Park- the Central Valley.) As a bonus the National Parks Service offers a free program to 4th graders called 'Every Kid Outdoors'. The program provides the student and their families free access to explore Federal Public Lands.
