The Simpsons is an American animated television series created by Matt Groening on Fox Network. The series follows the misadventures of a dysfunctional family called the Simpsons as they attempt to survive the wacky situations they get into in Springfield. Before I get to the review, it's time for some history. Years ago, Matt Groening had a comic called Life in Hell. It was very popular, so he decided to make a television series about it. But while waiting to talk about the subject to James L. Brooks, he realized if they bought the pitch, he would lose the rights to his characters. So, he quickly thought up a dysfunctional family called The Simpsons. He named most of them after his family. Homer was his dad's name and Marge was short for Margaret, who was his mom (even though in the show, her full name is Marjorie). Lisa was his sister's name and Maggie was either another one of his sisters or short for Margaret. He was going to name Bart after himself, but that was too obvious. So he used an anagram for 'Brat', which is were Bart came from. Soon, they were on "The Tracey Ullman Show" as a short. Eventually, they became so popular they got their own show on Fox. And that's the history. Now for the review.
Let's talk about the characters first. Homer was one of the funniest characters in the show. He's dimwitted, but in a funny way, like Patrick Star. He loves beer and donuts, and it is funny how much he is addicted to them. Also, when he says something dark, it's really funny for some reason. Homer's just the perfect dad (not really, I mean TV dad because he's so funny). Marge is a little different. She's your stereotypical mom, but that isn't always a bad thing. On her own, I feel like Marge is okay, and nice and all. But she bounces off other characters really well. When she's around others, it makes for some pretty funny moments. Marge isn't really the greatest character, but not the worst. Bart is EASILY my favorite character in the entire show. And basically everyone who knows me knows that. He's one of my top two favorite cartoon characters of all time. Bart is the only character AS FUNNY as Homer. One time he said "There is a god, and his name is the DEVIL", which was hilarious. Bart's the best with dark humor. He's really mean but in a funny way. Bart's really good on his own, and he bounces of others really well. I'm not the only one who loves Bart, though. He's probably the most popular character in the show. Lisa, like Marge, isn't really known for being THAT funny. But that doesn't mean she isn't. Every now and then, she says something sarcastic or funny, or goes crazy in a really funny way. She's also awkward, which makes for pretty funny scenes. Maggie is silent, yet entertaining. She (almost) never speaks, and is usually sucking on her pacifier, but she's extraordinary. Unlike most babies, she rarely (if ever) cries, so she's not annoying. She has times where she's funny for one reason or another. I'm only covering the Simpsons family, since there's like a million of them and I couldn't list them all, I'm really familiar with every single one, and most of the rest are just one thing: funny.
Let's talk about the art style now. In the first few seasons, the art style was not really bad, just below average. It was better than the Tracey Ullman version, but still. But as the show progressed, the art style became brighter and more clean. But it just kept getting brighter and now it's really good. Unlike Arthur, where I prefer the art style in the middle seasons more than the new one, my favorite art style is the current one. Not much else to say.
Let's finally talk about the best part of the Simpsons and why I love it so much. THE COMEDY. In my opinion, The Simpsons is the funniest television show of all time. Seriously, every single episode is hilarious. Basically all the jokes hit. The writers should become professional comedians with this kind of humor. There's sarcastic humor, dark humor, and meta humor that make up the comedy of the Simpsons. I wish I could say my favorite, but I love all of them the same. The jokes are just brilliant, and if you watch the earlier episodes today, you'll probably laugh as hard as today's episodes. Tons of people say that the Simpsons declined in quality over the years, but I disagree. Even though The Simpsons has been going on for almost 30 YEARS, it's still consistently funny and entertaining.
The Simpsons is my favorite cartoon of all time. It's funny, entertaining, and overall just fun to watch. I'm SO happy Matt decided not to make Life in Hell a TV show, because all this popularity and success would never have existed if he didn't make one dysfunctional yellow family all those years ago.
10/10.

Adventure Time is an American animated television series created by Pendleton Ward on Cartoon Network. The series follows the adventures of a 12-year old boy named Finn and his magical best friend dog Jake as they explore The Land of Ooo and fight evil along the way. Before I get to the review, it's time for some history. When Pendleton Ward graduated from college, he started working with Frederator Studios and making shorts. He made two shorts for Random Cartoons! The shorts were titled "The Bravest Warriors" and "Adventure Time". The Adventure Time short was made in 2006, but was released in 2007. It became a phenomenon. It was so popular that Ward pitched it to be a full series for Nickelodeon. But they turned it down. Twice. Eventually, Cartoon Network picked the show up and the rest is history. Okay, time for the review. Let's start with the characters. Finn is incredibly likable with how brave he is and stuff, but he's also really funny and fun. Jake is hilarious because of his sometimes misguided advice, laziness, and dark sense of humor. The duo are the perfect main characters (also, in case you didn't know, the show's full title is Adventure Time with Finn and Jake). BMO is enjoyable and fun. BMO also isn't one specific gender, since it changes gender depending on the situation or the episode. Princess Bubblegum is enjoyable and hardcore. She may be a genius, but she can sometimes be a goofball and botch things up. She also has a complicated relationship with Marceline The Vampire Queen. Speaking of which, Marcy is enjoyable and relatable, and fun to be around. Ice King is hilarious and enjoyable, since he's kind of dumb and oblivious to everything. He's also voiced by Tom Kenny (aka. SpongeBob). The rest of the cast are either enjoyable or funny. But, I used to not like Lemongrab and The King of Ooo, but that was because Lemongrab was slightly annoying and the King of Ooo was a complete jerk.
Let's talk about the action, fantasy, and ADVENTURE of this show. Adventure Time is a very creative show. Stretching yellow dogs, bubblegum royalty, vampire queens, grass versions of our heroes, the literal embodiment of darkness, a wish-giving dude, and SO much more, AT is one of the weirdest shows on television. But it's fun and exciting to see this weirdness shown in a good way. It's fun and not the creepy weird (well, sometimes, but let's not talk about that). The action is also very top-notch. It's cool and exciting to see, and always entertaining. The actual adventure is just amazing. The exploration of this colorful and weird world, learning the depths of it, and meeting new friends and enemies along the way is just fun. All these attributes make Adventure Time a classic. Now, on to the comedy. For a mainly adventure and story-driven show, this cartoon is surprisingly funny. Like, almost Simpsons funny. Most of the jokes come from hilarious characters like Jake or Ice King, but sometimes the other types of characters say a line that's extremely funny. This show really knows how to handle comedy. It perfectly blends the jokes in with the other stuff. Also, like Regular Show, the exaggerated teen lingo is always funny. Like The Simpsons, it also pulls of dark comedy. Like, surprisingly dark scenes are laugh-out loud moments. It's one of the funniest shows on television. Also, I forgot to say in the Simpsons review how much I liked the voice acting (I LOVE The Simpsons' voice acting), so I'm going to talk about the voice acting in Adventure Time. The voice actors pull of their characters so well, it's almost impossible to imagine any one else playing the roles. They have some big stars like John DiMaggio, Hynden Walch, Olivia Olson, Tom Kenny, Justin Roiland, Kumail Nanjiani, and Niki Yang. So, I love the voice acting. And finally, the attribute that I love the most about Adventure Time is the art style! I mean it looks beautiful and fun! It's colorful and bright and looks amazing. Even when it gets dark, it still looks like a masterpiece. I know they changed the animation in different episodes, but NONE of them can compare to the normal. It's one of my favorite art styles in a cartoon. I also love the art style of Hanazuki: Full of Treasures and Steven Universe the same. It makes sense why the art style is so good, because the show is storyboard-driven. So they put more time and effort into the art style than the script.
Overall, Adventure Time is my favorite Cartoon Network show of all time, my favorite modern cartoon of all time, and my 2nd favorite cartoon of all time.
10/10.

Regular Show Review

Regular Show was an American animated television series created by James Garland "J.G" Quintel on Cartoon Network. The series follows the misadventures of two slacker groundskeepers named Mordecai (a blue jay) and Rigby ( a racoon) as they attempt to avoid work as much as possible and get into crazy adventures doing so. Before I get to the review, it's time for some history. At CalArts, Quintel made a short called "The Naive Man From Lolliland". He got the idea from the short when he pulled a word out of a hat and got "lollipop". The short was about a lollipop-headed man who tries to pay for his food with lollipops, but gets beat up and flies away in his magical car unsatisfied. This short introduced Pops (even though he wasn't called that). Soon, Quintel made another short called "2 in the AM PM". This short focused on two gas station employees (who looked like Quintel and his friend Sam Marin) when suddenly they get hit by acid or something and becomes a blue jay and a gumball machine. THIS was the first introduction to Mordecai and Benson (even though they weren't called that in the short). Mordecai wore a fanny pack, though. The short was actually intended for adults since it had strong language and inappropriate scenes. One time, when he was drawing, he drew a hula-hooping racoon (which was the first appearance of Rigby). Quintel eventually started working on Cartoon Network shows like Camp Lazlo, The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, and Adventure Time. When Cartoon Network launched a project called the "Cartoonstitute" where creators could make shorts and possibly TV shows without network interference, Quintel decided to make a short called "Regular Show" with the characters he made. It aired in 2009, and was soon greenlit for a full series. Okay, time for the review.
Let's talk about the characters, and trust me, there's a lot to talk about. Mordecai, out of the two, is the more responsible and mature. He's relatable and charming, but also kinda funny. Mordecai is entertaining and pulls of the personality best suited for a character. He's as wacky and funny as a cartoon character can get, but also like a real life person you could actually know in real life. Rigby, on the other hand, is ALWAYS funny and irresponsible. He messes stuff up all the time, but means well. He's a goofball and hates being made fun of. He's also humorous and sometimes can be relatable. Benson is the angry park manager who always yells at Mordecai and Rigby. In the first few seasons, he seemed like your stereotypical boss: always mad and yelling. But as the series progressed, he became more likable and we understand why he's always mad and yelling. He also eats a lot of hot wings (which I guess is the alcohol in this show because whenever someone eats too much of it, they get drunk). Benson's insecurities have become more clear and now he's more than just an angry park manager. Pops is the lollipop-headed guy from the original short. The title of the short is exactly what Pops is. Pops is a cheerful and naive man who always loves hugs and lollipops. He's charming and lovable, and always brings happiness wherever he goes. Pops definitely has his fair share of annoying moments, but not enough to downgrade him. Skips is smart and helpful. He's immortal, so he can live forever. Skip's voice actor (Mark Hamil) is REALLY good at doing Skips' voice. Not much else to say about Skips. Muscle Man is one of the funniest characters in Regular Show. He was originally just a big jerk who annoyed everyone with his lame "My Mom" jokes. But, now, I realize, those times were funny. Muscle Man is a hilarious character and somewhat likable. I don't know, but he's just so humorous it's weird. Hi Five Ghost is entertaining. He's not really given that much moments to shine, so I can't really judge him very well. Now, time for the humor. Regular Show is hilarious. From character interactions, famous quotes, and some adult jokes, Regular Show is just a really funny show. If you watch Regular Show, you probably know some of the famous quotes like "My mom!", "You're fired!", "WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOA!", "Hmm- mm-hmm-hmmmm," "Yeah-uh!,", "Jolly good show!", and "Bad show!". The quotes are so iconic it gives "D'oh!" a run for its money. The comedy is spot-on and just get better every season. Now, for the art style. In the earlier seasons, the characters looked.... okay. They weren't bad or anything, but they could DEFINITELY have been improved. But, as the series went on, the character designs and the art style were more fluid, colorful, and shaped. Regular Show's art style isn't really anything special, but it's way better than some cartoons. Finally, the voice acting. Okay, I'm gonna give you a run down of who voices who. J.G Quintel voices Mordecai and Hi Five Ghost, William Salyers voices Rigby, Sam Marin voices Benson, Muscle Man, and Pops, Mark Hamil voices Skips, Roger Craig Smith voices Thomas/Nikolai, Minty Lewis voices Eileen, Janie Haddad voices Margaret, Linda Cardellini voices CJ, and David Ogden Stiers voices Mr. Maellard. All the voice actors portray their characters so well, it's like they were born to play the part. Overall, Regular Show was funny, fun, and exciting show with great characters, fantastic comedy, a good art style, and one of the best voice casts ever. The show ended in 2017 (and the finale was incredible), but that doesn't mean Regular Show will REALLY end anytime soon.
9/10.

Minecraft is a sandbox video game created by Swedish game designer Markus "Notch" Persson, later fully developed and published by Mojang, a company he founded. The creative and building aspects of Minecraft allow players to build with a variety of different cubes in a 3D procedurally generated world.. Before I get to the review its time for some history. One day in his apartment building Notch wanted to do something. So he made a game strait out of his head. He used 3D graphics of cubes to make, MINECRAFT.. Or cave game because that is what he called it at the beginning. He got some people to buy it but then he wanted it to change. So he renamed it Minecraft. And already with all the updates he was bringing lots and lots of people into the world of Minecraft. How much? well back then about 1,000,000. But then on September 2014 Notch gave away his most popular game to Microsoft. Microsoft bought it for about $2.5 billion! And if you didn't know this: Microsoft owes Xbox but there was already Minecraft on the PS4. And without taking down Minecraft on the PS4 (because if they did they would get serious hate), They just stopped it from having any updates. And they added it to Xbox 1! Now time for the review. Minecraft is great. You get to build literally anything without any limits (except sky limits)! And you can also survive and build shelters in survival! and if you wanna take it to the MAXIMUM level, you have to go into Adventure Mode with the difficulty being on HARD (Adventure Mode is where you cant break any blocks)!! What isn't there to not like about this game? Well except the PS4 incident. I'm going to have to rate this game 9/10. Keep rockin' it Minecraft.

Steven Universe Review

Steven Universe is an American animated television series created by Rebecca Sugar on Cartoon Network. The series follows the adventures of a boy named Steven who's half-human and half-gem. He and his guardians, The Crystal Gems, who consist of Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl as they save the world from threats and villains. However, Steven is still learning how to use the powers in his gem, but always finds a way to save the day. Before I get into the review, it's time for some history. Rebecca Sugar originally worked on Adventure Time and wrote many of the show's most popular songs. Sugar loved working on Adventure Time, but she desired to make a cartoon of her own. When Cartoon Network launched a new project called the "Cartoonstitute", Sugar knew this was her chance. So, she made a pilot called "Steven Universe" and the network greenlit the pilot so it would become a show. Okay, time for the review. Let's first talk about the characters. Steven is the title character, meaning he's the one that's on screen most of the time. I think Steven is very enjoyable and likable. He's always helping other people and (spoilers) gives himself up to Homeworld so his friends won't get hurt. While Steven (along with Finn) began this current trend of main characters being nice and enthusiastic, he does have some defining traits for himself. For example, in the earlier seasons, he would say something goofy or weird and it would get a big laugh. But like Adventure Time (sorry for comparing them so much), the main character grows up and becomes mature and knows how to handle his responsibilities. But throughout, he remains a charming, sweet, and enjoyable character. Next up is the leader, Garnet. Garnet is a fusion between two different gems, a Ruby and a Sapphire, and their love is what makes Garnet..... Garnet. She's easily the coolest Crystal Gem, and is a great leader and mentor. While she is meant to be the serious, yet sweet leader of the gang, she does have her funny moments. Though, these moments are kinda rare. Then there's Pearl, the organized and uptight one. She had a strong relationship with Rose Quartz, so she is often seen talking about how great she was. While she is uptight and stern, when she isn't being like that, she can be really funny, because of her awkwardness and obliviousness to human culture. Next, is Amethyst, who's the irresponsible but playful one. She's one of the funniest crystal gems, because of her laziness, funny one-liners, or just some random line. In the 3rd season, Amethyst begins to doubt herself when she finds out that she was supposed to look like Jasper, who's big and strong, but she came out wrong, which makes her lose a lot of self-esteem. This mini-arc for Amethyst is very well-handled and it just proves that even the most prideful people can be brought down. Then there's former villain-turned hero Peridot. When we first meet her, she's an intelligent and robotic character with little emotion. She then becomes the main antagonist in the 2nd season, with the Crystal Gems always attempting to foil her plans, but they always end up failing. This goes on for a while, until they finally defeat her and bubble her in the temple. At night, Steven goes there and unbubbles Peridot. Before they defeated Peridot, she had some final words, which were that they needed her because she was the only one who knew about something, but before she can say what it is, they poof her. When Steven unbubbles her, she says ''THE CLUSTER!''. Then, for the next twenty something episodes or so, Peridot locks herself in the bathroom, she shows Steven the base of where she first met them, they build a drill, Steven celebrates his birthday, Peridot calls Yellow Diamond a clod, Peridot and Pearl almost kill each other with robots, and etcetera. During and after this arc, Peridot grows to be the snarky know-it all, and I must say, she has some very funny lines. She's easily the funniest character in the entire show. I could go on and on about the characters, but let me just give you a run-down of the rest: Lapis is very sad yet hilariously grim, Greg is enjoyable and funny, Connie is a great character and crystal gem, Lion is cute and hilarious, and there's more but I just wanna continue with the review, so LET'S GO! Now let's talk about the animation. I must say, it looks gorgeous. The characters look fantastic, the backgrounds are stellar, the character animation is very fluid and unique, the action scenes are some of the best on Cartoon Network, and I just love how it looks. Then there's the songs, which are so amazing and beautiful that it would be difficult to pick the best 3. But it's not hard for me, so my favorite songs are Stronger Than You, Both of You, and Here Comes A Thought. Then, finally, there's the voice acting. Each actor portrays their character perfectly, and there's a few fun facts. So here we go:
Estelle, the singer, voices Garnet. Brain Poshen, who voices Sour Cream, also voices Axel in the Minecraft Story Mode series. Tom Scharpling, who voices Greg, also voices Jermaine in Adventure Time.
Overall, Steven Universe is a fun, interesting, beautiful, diverse, brilliant, and just plain amazing show, and adds to Cartoon Network's recent Renaissance of amazing cartoons.
9/10.
