Regular verbs:
1.Verbs ending in a silent e take /d/
(closed, died)
2.Verbs ending in a vowel + y take /ed/ (played, destroyed)
3.Verbs ending in a consonant + y take /-ied/.The ' y' becomes an ' i' .(studied, married)
4.All the other regular verbs take /-ed/ (visited)
Special classes:
1.If there is a consonant after a stressed vowel at the end of the word, double the consonant(stopped, banned)
