Memory: My mom is an elementary school teacher and I was lucky enough to have her stay home with me as a child. One play memory that especially sticks out was when my mom and I would set up doll furniture and make tiny meals with real food for the fairies living in our garden. The next day I would go outside and see that the food was missing and get so excited about the idea of fairies coming to visit, it was truly magical.

I can vividly remember at ages before 10 being in private school and having "free play time". During this play time 9/10 times the girls would be playing house and dress-up but the boys would be playing with cars and legos, etc. Looking back I now wonder if these gender roles and certain play being masculine and feminine was unconsciously driven into us by being at a private school.
