         <description><![CDATA[<div>Even though social media can be entertaining and useful, it also comes with many problems which could affect your well being (emotionally, mentally, physically). <strong>Emotional </strong>problems, that can be experienced are feeling disconnected from friends and activities if taken away from it and it can cause unnecessary drama.  FOMO, a common term which stands for the fear of missing out can be caused through the use of social media. Social media can also affect your <strong>mental</strong> health by causing low confidence by reducing self worth and constantly comparing yourself to other people. Bullying also occurs online which can impact a person very much. As for its <strong>physical </strong>effects it can create problems with the quality of sleep and immune system, reduce exercising, and reducing your focus by getting in the way of work. Social media is also known to create issues with stress, depression, anxiety. It is important to keep in mind that social media can cause an addiction . </div>]]></description>

There are many apps now such as Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, and Facebook  to use. According to recent statistics 75% of teenagers in America have a social media profile and 70% of teenagers use social media several times a day. The group that uses social media the most are females as 75% of females use social media and 64% of males use social media. <br><br><strong><mark>Ways to use it Wisely </mark></strong></div><div>An excessive and irresponsible use of social media can cause many issues,  which is why it is important to take breaks and use it wisely. According to Access World News, about 60 percent of teens in the U.S have taken a social media break. Some ways to use social media wisely are to: </div><ul><li>Limit your screen time on your phone - set a time or limit using certain settings on your phone</li><li>Unfollow bad (mean/inappropriate) accounts</li><li>Spend time outside everyday</li><li>Connect with other people</li><li>Support others and be kind</li><li>Think before you post - remember that everything stays online</li><li>Take a break from it every once in a while</li></ul><div><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>
