Overall the pathogen E. Coli comes from food poisoning by entrance through the gastrointestinal tract. Eating raw, under cooked, or contaminated foods along with improper hand washing and food prep can carry strands of bacteria. When humans with lowered immune systems ingest the bacteria they become ill from food poisoning. However treatment is readily available and prevention of E. Coli measures can be made aware to the public.
