The draft lottery was held in order to select the order to call military service in Vietnam. With the draft there were many draft dodgers, these draft dodgers were considered to be anyone who made an attempt to elude a government imposed obligation to serve in the military forces of their nation. The draft dodgers made the process of selecting people for the military increasingly difficult, as now there were less people for the draft and less people that could support the military efforts on Vietnam.
