After the disaster we would have a separate team to give donations and serving people in the evacuation center, while the other team will retrieve and check up on people who didn't stay in the evacuation center or got lost.

In terms of being a part of an important team in a barangay (Disaster Risk Reduction team), I should first take responsibility for having things ready, prepared, and organized; with these ideas, when unexpected disaster comes, we are ready to provide, help, and guide the people if they’re in need, and so we won’t have any problems when it happens.

During:

First, I will make sure everyone is at the safe zone area so that they won’t get injured or have issues. Second, I will instruct them what are the things to do for them to be safe during the disaster. Third, I will tell people not to panic because panicking won’t help you during disasters instead it just makes more things complicated and hard to find a way on how to help yourself. And lastly, I will do my best and show the people the correct and safest procedures during the disaster.

After:

As a member of the team that helps people in need, when the disaster is over, I will help people that are affected especially those who are in most-vulnerable because I’m willing to guide them and provide them what’s best. First, before a disaster i will advice everyone to prepare a go bag incase there would be need of evacuation. Second,I will tell those who are less vulnerable to head to the evacuation area earlier to make sure they are safe. Last,I will prepare the materials needed incase the disaster would affect alot of people. 

During a disaster my first action would be to check how the surrounding is, to see if there are any damages the community should avoid. Next,to check on the people and see if there are any problems. Lastly, I will prepare the community incase the disaster will worsen.

After a disaster the first thing I'll do is check the outside surroundings if its safe for everyone. Next, I will see if there are any problems with health or there might be people who got wounded or affected badly. I will communicate with rescuers and officials to ask help regarding the situation. 

During: Considering what type of disaster were happening, the community would work together and act on the plan for that specific disaster. I would also remind everyone to stay calm and help each other.

After: I would assess the safety of everyone in the area and assess the effect the disaster had on the people and the community. If the disaster led to big effects, planning recovery would start right away.

If I were to be part of my Barangay’s Disaster Risk Reduction team one of my first actions would be to inform everyone of possible disasters that may affect our community. This is important because without knowing any how would we prepare for it. My second action would be to recommend everyone to prepare a go bag that would contains a medical kit, necessary items, and important documents. My last action would be helping the ones greatly affected and most vulnerable people in the community after the disaster to help them not fall into poverty and help them get back on their feet.

As a student, using my knowledge on graphic design, I could create simple infographics to raise awareness.

To prepare for this I could assign proper safe spaces in our home incase a disaster strikes.    After the disaster I would once again asses our current situation to see if there are any possible hazards that could harm us. Prevention is better than cure. I would educate my barangay about the risks involved in said disasters and health risks. I would set up drills or educate them about what to do, before, during and after. I would also have my barangay prepare go-bags, as in these unpredictable times, it’s best to be prepared. During:

• In order to reduce risks and prevent these disasters, I would conduct programs that educates the community for disaster prevention. The program would help the community develop knowledge and skills required to keep their needs and safety in check, and to know what to expect.

• To prepare for disasters, I would release pubmats and posters around the community in order for them to be informed about the things needed to prepare for incoming disasters, emergency numbers, and credible news outlets and channels for disaster awareness.

• To recover from these disasters, I would station and distribute my staff along different regions of my barangay. I would also study the layout of my community and mark danger zones where people are most vulnerable. I will setup emergency teams with different purposes and I'll have them designated at areas which they are more capable of handling. For danger zones, I would prioritize them more for rescue operations and station staff with an advanced expertise in emergency operations.

Before: I would prepare emergency supplies, conduct drills, and educate people so everyone knows what to do during a disaster

During: I would help evacuation people, provide first aid professionals and materials, and give instructions to people.

Before: I would observe at the weak / vulnerable points of the location so that I can ensure safety among people. I would prepare / spread awareness to people.

During: Ensure that all MOST vulnerable people is safely evacuated to a sturdy and stable shelter that’s packed with enough basic needs for however long the disaster will be ongoing.

After: Starting a plan for recovery and a program for people who are greatly affected. If able, remove any left over debris that’s causing a blockage throughout the barangay.

I would do my best to contribute in helping the community in preparing, preventing, and recovering from the disasters that we can face. I can do this by, firstly, advocating for the cruciality of cooperation and collaboration within the barangay in order to increase the manpower for making a change in preventing these disasters from occuring. Second, the dissipation of information to the community can make a significant difference in preparing for these disasters, which may occur unpredictably. These actions can be done through social media; by posting informative content to help spread awareness. Lastly, recovering from these events can be successfully done through the collaboration and assistance of individuals in the community, especially those that are not part of the most vulnerable sectors. With the unity of the members of the community, we can all contribute in making a big change in embodying our Filipino mindset, "Bayanihan" fully and whole-heartedly through the disasters that may come our way.

These actions are important because they reduce damage, protect lives, and support faster recovery.

We should have emergency funds for food and supplies in case of disaster ,and we could have some government areas with generators so that we may still have areas that have water and some sort of emergency shelter for some of the community. After the disaster, we should be intent on supplying aid and shelter to those who may have lost homes or access to supplies during it.

Before: I would prepare an emergency kit and learn the evacuation plan because it's better to be ready before a disaster happens.

During: I would stay calm and help others evacuate safely because everyone's safety is the most important.

After: I would help clean up the community and support affected families because working together helps us recover faster.

After: Get engineers to repair damaged buildings, and collaborate with other nearby communities to aid the survivors of the disaster. I would also make sure medical assistance is accessible for those who are injured.

The first action I would do is to conduct drills and plan an emergency evacuation route so that everyone can be safe, as well as mitigate any potential risks to the community. The second is to make sure everyone is heading towards the evacuation area and supporting the vulnerable people in our area so that no one gets left behind. The third and final action is to give everyone in need basic materials such as emergency food, water, and first aid and to help the severely affected people to rebuild their homes.

Before a disaster I would help spread information about safety tips, encourage my classmates and neighbors to prepare emergency kits, and join community clean-up drives to prevent flooding.

During a disaster, I would follow evacuation instructions, help younger children or elderly neighbors if it is safe to do so.

1. I would spread awareness about the incoming disaster and tell people to prepare their supplies. Especially food, first aid and water. Spreading awareness can also help in assessing the current situation of our community, where the dangers are, what is needed to make homes safer and who needs the most help.

2. I would advise people whose homes are safe and stable to stay where they are while people who are in unstable conditions and are at risk should evacuate to a safer place like an evacuation center. I would also advise people not to panic and stay calm.

3. First would be to asses the dangers in your home first, then if you are sure that you and your family are safe, help those who were affected and those who are in need of help. Especially senior citizens, kids, women who are pregnant, pwd and those who were injured during the disaster.

Why?

Before: I would first plan with my community to plant trees in places that could have high risk of land slides, second i will plan to drain the drainage systems of our community to prevent water from flooding around areas, third is to plan medkits and extra supplies to each family so that when evacuation is needed, we are already prepared. With these plans we can lower risks of physical danger.

During: We should sound the community sirens to make people aware and evacuate early without making people distressed and cause more commotion.

after: Check the news if it is safe, check homes next if many damages were caused so that no children or elders will be harmed.

Before:

First, I would look out for anything dangerous/hazardous that could be difficult to deal with in a disaster and have a community clean up to rid of those hazards. Then I would prepare and have practice drills with the community, prepare food, water and any necessities that people may need during/after the disaster. Make sure residents know their evacuation routes and

During:

I would ensure my own safety as well as everyone elses, keep them calm ensuring they follow through with the evacuation plans. I would also make sure I can help anyone that may be in need and guide them in evacuation.

After:

Have like a team assess the area post-disaster and provide relief packs and other necessities that residents might need. I would help anyone I can by sharing whatever resources I have and cleaning up the area while we recover.

Before:

• I would make sure that there are minimal risks in the surroundings of the barangay and inside the barangay such as loose wires, old tree barks, and lamp poles. I would also create an evacuation plan that would be full proof taking in the possible disasters into thought.

During:

• Making sure to review the evactuation plan and go into safety with our families.

After:

• I would create a food drive asking help from surrounding baranagays and governemnt officials while they fix the damages.
