         <description><![CDATA[<p>I personally agree. My first white teachers wasn't until high school and there was a distinctive difference in treatment and class culture. It felt as though teachers were trying to "save us" when we didn't necessarily need saving, we just needed to be heard, seen, and valued as students. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I agree that as teachers, we often forget that the classroom should be a space of collaboration with the understanding that students are agents of culture and history in the making, not a top down way of engagement. I also was reminded of Francisco de Vitoria's argument that slaves were like children who need a father figure to be educated and or to exist (and how education often puts children in a similar space).</p>]]></description>
