Phylum: Chordata

Diet-Jellyfish are the main staple of its diet, but it also feeds on sea urchins, squid, crustaceans, tunicates, fish, blue-green algae, and floating seaweed.
Habitat- The leatherback is the most pelagic of the sea turtles.

Threats-Leatherback eggs are harvested in Malaysia for food, and in some parts of Asia, the turtle is hunted for its oil and flesh.

Adaptations- Collapsable lungs to avoid bends. A pulmonary sphincter to shunt blood flow away from the collapsed lungs and back to the body during dives. A flexible shell to respond to increased pressure at depth. Slowed heart rate to conserve energy and oxygen stored.
