Public housing. The conditions in the slums are not very good and it is not very clean. The people might catch diseases and may not have the means to treat the sick people. The amenities in the public housing are also better and their life will be better and safer.
    2. Slum upgrading. Even if they build a lot of public housings, there will still be a lot of people who are too poor to move there, so slum upgrading will benefit the people who aren’t well off more
    3. Stay in the slum. There are many memories made in the slums and the community. Even though the facilities may not be the best, I would still want to stay in the slum

    2.) Slum upgrading. Allowing the people to stay in their slums and not forcefully evicting them allows them to have proximity to their jobs and maintain the relationships they have built in their built in their community.
    3.) We would rather stay in the slum because the community there is familiar and we have friends within this community. Even if we're all living in a slum these are the people we grew up with so we would prefer to stay in the upgraded slums.

Slum upgrading would be more sustainable as less materials are required as compared to building a completely new building.
    2. Slum upgrading. The mission is to make safer housing for the slum residents while maintaining a sense of belonging in the community. 
    Public housing. The issue is that there aren’t enough safe and durable housing. If a slum is destroyed and they’re repaired, it does not solve the problem. It simply fixes it temporarily which is not sustainable in the long run.
    3. Stay in the slum and have it upgraded:  I prefer a sense of belonging in my community and it’s also cheaper to stay in upgraded slums.
    Public housing: It is much safer to stay in a building than to live in a slum built with informal building materials. Depending on the location of the slum, the environment may also be unsafe to live in.

It is much safer and more stable as it has basic foundations in the buildings compared to certain upgrades which may be built in risky areas that are prone to floods and landslides.

    2. Slum upgrading may be better solution to the root problem. The root problem is mainly the lack of basic necessities like water and electricity. If you just provide slums with these necessities, the problem is already solved. There are already many opportunities for slum-dwellers since most slums are built in city areas to land compared to public housing which are located outside the city area which has less opportunities. 

    3. I would rather stay in my slum but have it upgraded. This is because the main problem of slums is that there is lack of necessities. If these necessities are provided in the slum upgrade, the problem will be solved. Moreover, I would be emotionally attached to the slum area as it holds memories with my close family and friends and I would not want to leave this close community.

    4. Housing solutions can be further improved in many aspects.
    Firstly, public housing can be built in city area so that residents have more opportunities for work and education since most public housing are built in rural areas.

The community of favelas are a very close knit community, and they might be reluctant to leave the settlement since they have an emotional attachment to it. It addresses the toot of the issue; if some of the favelas are situated in accident-prone areas, slum upgrading might not help but in most cases it would.       They can have basic access to electricity and water, in which they can still find job opportunities without having to move too far away to earn a living. 
    If I were a slum dweller in São Paulo, I would rather live in slums because there are more interactions with the community and upgrading it would be equivalent to going for public housing, sometimes even better since no rent has to be paid. But in public housing, we might be evicted if we are unable to fork out the money.
    The government should locate public housing closer to the central area so everyone gets a chance to earn money. This is because slum upgrading has provision of basic necessities and upgrading of building material which is more economically sustainable and is also more humane as not many slum dwellers want to move to public housing as takes away their sense of belonging and decreases their job opportunities which is extremely unsustainable. On the other hand, public housing is less sustainable and may still be too expensive to live in for the extremely poor slum dweller and needs the provision of many income document proves which may be unaccessable to slum dwellers.

    2.Slum upgrading. This is because it can provide basic facilities and amenities to slums at a low cost because many of the slum dwellers may not be able to afford living their if it is to pricy. Besides, it is more humane and is able to make the slum dwellers live in happier living conditions and still feel a sense of belonging unlike public housing.

    3. Public housing. Public housing would be much more comfortable and i would have a better life as well

    4. We can loosen regulations on the resale of public housing and can provide CPF too while also provide more grants and lower monthly instalments.
