At the beginning of the book, the setting is mainly Craig's apartment, and sometimes school. But, further into the book, the setting is always the psychiatric hospital Craig is admitted to. These settings are important because they are the two main settings of the whole book. All of the plot takes place in each of these two places.

1. A first conflict in this book is the fact that Craig suffers with depression and anxiety. This conflict is person vs. self and is resolved by being in a psychiatric hospital, taking medication, and seeing a therapist.
2. A second conflict in this book is Craig is overwhelmed and can't keep up with his school work. This conflict is person vs. self or could also fit into the person. vs society category. This conflict is eventually solved at the end of the book by transferring do a different and more easier school.
3. A third conflict in this book is Craig being admitted do a psychiatric hospital. This conflict is person vs. society, and is also resolved at the end of the book when he is discharged and feels a lot better.

A theme that fits this book perfectly is "Finding who you really are". This fits so well because at the end of the book when Craig is discharged, he has a new outlook on life and is grateful for how far he has come. In the book he has overcome many difficulties and problems in his life and realizes that it's what makes him himself.
