King is another accused young black man. We are constantly reminded of the violence and harsh conditions. Steve is being accused of murder and nothing seems to be helping his case. He consistently reminds himself, that only if they could see his soul, that he was just a man. Instead of the monster they tend to prospect him as. The proposition goes, that two men entered a store. The store owner defended himself, then one thing led to another. There wasn't just a puddle of blood by Mr. Nesbitt's body, but also a pool of sweat and guilt dripping from the two men's faces. But it wasn't a two man job. Instead of innocent until proven guilty, for a young black man on trial, it's more like guilty until proven innocent. In this case anyways. An employee of Nesbitt's claimed to arrive at the store to see his boss's corpse and missing cigarettes. Another man and jail had heard about the story and used it to make his jailbreak. While another had used this incident to help himself as well. Claiming he had been sold cigarettes from a robbery. Another man, Osvaldo, explains that Steve was the look out. While King and Bobo were to rob the store. Osvaldo  said he was afraid of Bobo. And that was the reason he played a role in the crime.
