"The 14th century kingdom of Temasek was a sizable port city, with a population of perhaps ten thousand people. The people of Temasek witnessed much more than mere fishing activity: ships from the great kingdoms and empires of Asia anchored in the harbor, Mongol envoys from the court of the Khans came looking for elephants, ambassadors called on the court of the Malay rajas on top of Fort Canning and the kingdoms armies fought off as many as two invasions at their city walls. Indeed, the scholarly consensus is now lining up with the description of Temasek (or Singapura) in the semi-mythical Sejarah Melayu (Malay Annals) as a great city."

what does this source tells me about singapore before 1819?
answer:This source tells me that people in singapore work as fishermen before 1819
the evidence is"The people of Temasek witnessed much more than mere fishing activity
time period:before 1819
what kind of source is this?
answer:written
where is this source from?
answer:from internet
what area is revealed by this source?
answer:occupation

Based on the sources that i have analysed, i can say that many people came to Singapore by boats to trade before 1819, the Chinese coolies were employed in back-breaking jobs such as mining, ports, plantations, construction site and as rickshaw pullers and Singapore was attacked by the Javas two time before 1819. The political connections of Singapore are some bad and good, the bad are the Javas and Malacca because the Javas attacked Singapore two times and the Malacca does not want ships to go to Singapore to trade and want ships to trade at Malacca before 1819.
