I like the fact that fishing is a resource and a great trading source. The climate is perfect for fishing and manufacturing and you don't need many slaves since there is rarely any hot climate. Another reason is because I like big spaces and they grow crops on large plantations and they live on Coastal plains. Their religion is 70% Christianity so that's a good amount to not have to worry about anybody forcing another religion on me.
