The math lesson is over and so is the lunch break where we have watched the children’s news about the new covid restrictions on the big smartboard. Ahmed, the teacher, has promised them they will play a game later, but now asks the pupils to gather lids, forks, etc. He only wants some pupils to collect them, a couple of times he repeats that the rest should sit down and be quiet. I sit opposite the door at one of the five group tables and watch Magnus who sits next to Dagmar next to the teacher’s desk and to the smartboard. Magnus tries several times to push a button on the smartboard, I presume to turn on a new program, but gets annoyed; 'it doesn’t work.’ However, some others look hopefully at his attempts from their seats. Eventually, he succeeds, and the program starts, but Ahmed stops it right away and says, 'well, you go out in the hallway; you will not join the game.’ Magnus’s body folds over, and he glances emptily into his lap as if he would rather disappear. Ahmed asks if he has finished eating, and he says yes, ‘well, then you can go out,‘ Ahmed says, but Magnus stays seated. Ahmed says he misbehaves, and Magnus tries to negotiate 'can’t I just…' and stays seated despite Ahmed's insistence.
