Austria is a German-speaking Western European country, without salinity to the sea. It borders Italy, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Slovenia. And being a country with western culture shares a series of traditions with us, such as Christmas. But it does not make it celebrate as we do, so in space we will put how you live Christmas in Austria.

On December 6, it is when Santa Claus arrives to bring gifts to good children. But according to the tradition of the Germanic peoples (including the Austrians) the day before (on December 5) comes the Krampus, which would be the opposite of Santa Claus, to punish and even kidnap the bad children. While Santa Claus gives nuggets together with nuts, tangerines, chocolates; the Krampus gives away potatoes and coal. In the alpine areas, parades are usually held in honor of Krampus, with costumes that cause fear.
