Who am I?

What makes the black family unique would be with the traditions they do or celebrate or also like family structures . One example would be fictive kin , this is as this people that aren't family are family for that special person . For example like Church members or family friends will care and love that child if it was one of their own .

I think the strengths and challenges of the black family would be for strengths as it could be resilience , adaptability and strong foundation . This means that if someone is facing some financial situation the family members will help each other and have everyone's back so no one can call behind . For challenges it could be racism , economic inequality and limited access to to health care and education . This means that we are still living in an unfair world and by the color of your skin could lead to a lot of challenges .

Concepts such as racial socialization affect parents and children in black family as parents are teaching them about how to defend themselves / respond safely against police officers and teaching them about culture heritage history .

The factors that I think that have impacted black families the most since slavery would be the war one drugs and mass incarnation . These systems have affected / impacted black families A lot as families are being separated for no reason which leads to facing a lot of challenges for the kids growing up and not having a father figure or mother figure in there life .

The imposter syndrome is a psychological pattern in which a person will doubt there accomplishments and have a fear of being called a lier or other bad stuff even though they are very successful

Imposter syndrome can effect a student in there educational journey and in there career experiences as it can lead students to feel out of place , can cause anxiety , being nervous and hesitant to ask for help .

Imposter syndrome can affect the self esteem and mental health of African American women in the workplace as they can feel the pressure to have to overachieve or to prove themselves to everyone in environments where they don't believe in them . This can lead to stress , burnout and might even cause depression .

Race and gender play into the African American women experience int he workforce as race and gender can cause a lot barriers such as being stereotyped , underestimated and not being chosen for stuff . This can lead to a lack of opportunities and not feeling goof about themselves .

One strategy that I believe that would be successful in addressing the issue and improving the workplace for women of color by creating a mentorship and sponsorships programs . By creating these it can lead to members gaining confidence and feel better about themselves to do better .

One thing that stood out to me from this reading would have to be how common imposter syndrome is even among highly accomplished African American women and how people become successful despite these chain gas they have to face .

I think that the psychological consequences would have to be increased feeling of loneliness , depression , anxiety and anger . They would also have negative impact on functions as problem solving or at a workplace .

the stereotypes that are perpetuated when racial migration micro aggressions are thrown towards a person of color would be negative racial stereotypes . This is so as a belief that African Americans are less intelligent our accurate .

The other issues that this theme affects the African Americans community would be formed layered of discrimination . This is so as an lgbtq member might be told she doesn't look gay which might result in a racial stereotype .

All of these theories help explain how people are forced to live in a world where that is constantly questions or invalidates there identity .

A good strategy is to would think is good would have to be gently call attention . This is so as it would focus on behavior not the person . Which would lead to opening the door for honest conversations without shaming someone .

One thing that stood out to me from the reading would have to be how professor sues point on how he said that how people of color often make eye contact with eahcother when a micro aggression occurs . This is a way to approve that the experience was real .

The strengths of Black neighborhoods and communities and how have they manifested over time would be physiological sense of community , which fosters belonging, cultural identity, and resilience.

The weaknesses of Black neighborhoods and communities and state one solution to an issue I had have raised would be the inequality in public services. These services include such as education and health care . One possible solution is to bring community led development initiatives that would give the residents the power to be able to have the same resources .

One thing that stood out to me would be the distinction between psychological physical senses of the community .

One of the most important thing that I've learned from this unit's readings and how it has deepened my understanding of Black male and female interpersonal and close relationships would have to be how historical and societal influence shape strongest match and the romantic relationships within the African American community .

Long-standing stereotypes in the media of African American females being portrayed as property affect the psyche of those seeing these images and the African American woman's dating prospects as it contributes to a deeply harmful narrative that affects not only how others view black women but also how black women may view themselves .

The factors are contributing to the rising number of single Black unmarried females as not just a matter of a personal choice but it reflects on a combination of social , demographic and economic factors . Also the rates of black men and there education level can limit the available men available

Stigma in the African American community against the LGBTQ community is planted in a combination of religious and cultural factors . As it brings identities to LGBTQ as many African American communities have strong ties to religious institution .

Code switch means to rotate between two or more language varieties in either a social or cultural context .It affects African Americans success if life because they have to talk in standard English as it is there way as it is seen of a correct way of speaking English .

Expecting code switching threaten diversity means that there is a way of speaking less . This is so as it can erase cultural identity and suggest that professional success requires blending into white norms.

The effects of code switching intersect with a persons' mental health by constantlt causing stress, anxiety and feeling of not being right .

The significant differences in terms of religious and spiritual practices of the African American community compared to the larger community would have to be that African Americans are more religious that the general US population. This is so as majority will attend there Church services daily , Pray daily and they consider religion very important in there lives .

Black Millenials exhibit different religious habits compared to older African Americans who more traditionally attended historically Black protestant churches because black millennials are less likely to affiliate with historically black protestant Churches and would go in there own path and consider themselves spiritual.

Attending church affect the mental health of African Americans by providing with a stronger sense of community , emotional support and purpose of there life . This will make them feel better about themselves and help them do better in life.

There are disparities between the amount of pain medication an African American woman would receive compared to other women in the same hospital complaining of pain due to it implies a bias and a systemic racism on African American women in the healthcare system.

The factors contributing to the disproportionate number of African American infants who die in childbirth and African American mothers who die in childbirth due to limited access of quality health / prenatal care , medical racism and the chronic stress associated living in a racial unjust society.

Some solutions that can be implemented to improve the experiences of African American mothers giving birth and African American infant survival rates would be that health care systems should adopt into anti racism , increase the number of African American health care workers and training there staff in living in a no races society .

The intersectionality of the unconscious bias, distrust in the healthcare system, lack of health insurance and lack of health education affect the African American community would be because they create a cycle for poor health outcomes . By this bias being own the medical field it can result to misdiagnose or under treatment as well .
