Alternating current is mainly what is used all around the world today, as it can easily be spread over a long distance without generators every 2 miles, unlike direct current. Also, without it, the world would be even more polluted than it is today, as the generators for DC had to be placed every 2 miles, destroying the environment. While DC power is still used today in things like phones, AC still wins the overall battle.

Tesla invented the alternating current, which could change direction 50 or 60 times per second, and essentially minimizes power loss across great distances. Direct current, however, flows continuously in one direction. Although direct current is still used today for many of our considered necessities, alternating current is the way to power light, making Tesla the winner of the war.

Tesla won the war of the currents, but what would happen if Edison hadn't fought against him. Mistakes are not always bad. Edison's failure with the DC showed us that that system doesn't work and not to use that in the future. Tesla powered the city, but Edison gave TEsla things to power such as the light bulb and the battery. Both had an important part of today's society.
