When I arrive at my job interview, introductions will be made. After the interviewer introduces themself, I will say, "Nice to meet you (interviewer's name), my name is Isabella Hester." And I will have a smile on my face signifying that I am happy to be here and I am happy to be meeting you. The verbal message is what I am saying and the nonverbal message is my smile.

Sitting up straight while answering questions

Interviewers want to see you be your most confident self. And one way I can look confident is if I sit up straight. Slouching is a bad look. If I sit up straight and answer the questions I am being asked, I will look and feel confident. The verbal message is me answering questions and the nonverbal message is me sitting up straight.

Speaking in the right tone, volume, and rate

When speaking with the interviewer I need to consider my voice tone, volume, and rate. I should speak in a nice but confident tone. I need to speak loud enough, but not too loud. And, I need to remember to not speak too fast. If I talk too fast, then I will seem nervous. The verbal message is me actually speaking and the nonverbal message is my paralanguage.

Wearing appropriate attire and talking with confidence

It is very important to wear appropriate attire to a job interview. You want to look professional and put together. My clothing will send a message: I am serious about this job position and I am a professional. And, if you look your best, you feel your best. So, if I am dressed nice, I will feel more confident. With this confidence from my clothing, I can talk and answer questions with confidence. The verbal message is me speaking confidently and the nonverbal message is my clothing.
