1: I think therefore I am is the way in which we may affirm our own being. To a dualist perspective this would be the most fundamental truth. However, we are molded by the others so inherently we cannot escape what has already been thrown. Indiviuality is still influenced by the past but, we think in relation to our future selves. Perhpas conflict is immenient and we can choose to fall back, or become authentic and fight in our alienating. Rags to riches stories are always displaying this phenomenon of hardship and overcoming both of which are already present and inevitable.

For the second question on truth I feel like truth is not what we uncover or should see as a whole truth but what is more true to the person in a relative perspective, what you want to imply and the knowledge you are given to find the things you want to pursue.
