         <description><![CDATA[<p>WHO IS IT FOR? </p><ul><li><p>Are you a recent graduate or professional seeking advice on a career in IP, a grad student / postdoc nearing the end of your training or someone having trouble getting your foot in the door in the IP profession? </p></li><li><p>Would it help to connect with existing IP professionals?</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p>WHAT WILL YOU GET? </p><ul><li><p>You will be able to connect with a mentor in the Intellectual Property profession and benefit from their knowledge and expertise</p></li><li><p>You will get 1:1 mentoring with your dedicated mentor to discuss careers in patents, trade marks and the general IP field</p></li><li><p>The relationship with your mentor will last up to three months and during that time you will be able to ask questions about entering the profession, traineeships, work experience and how to prepare yourself for a career in the IP profession</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p>Our mentors come from different types of organisations including private sector firms, inhouse IP departments and civil service IP organisations. Many of our mentors have decades of experience in their respective fields and are an exceptional resource for would-be recruits into the profession.          <title>Publishing: The Felicity Bryan Publishing Mentorship </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><br></p><p><strong>SEPTEMBER – NOVEMBER </strong></p><p>Scheme was created in honour of the pre-eminent literary agent Felicity Bryan, who died in June 2020.</p><p><strong>The scheme is aimed at anyone from an underrepresented background who is interested in pursuing a career in the publishing industry. It is designed to be accessible to anyone, no matter their circumstances, and to give a stimulating and varied introduction to the many aspects of publishing.</strong> The mentee will be paid the <strong>Oxford Living Wage</strong> for the duration of the mentorship and there will be an <strong>additional stipend</strong> available to cover the cost of accommodation. The scheme is generously supported by Felicity’s family, and reflects her own energetic nurturing of talent and potential in young people starting out in their careers.</p><p><br></p><p>The three-month mentorship will be based primarily at the Felicity Bryan Associates offices in Oxford. It will also include a range of industry placements at our partner organisations, including:</p><ul><li><p>Little, Brown Book Group</p></li><li><p>Profile Books</p></li><li><p>Andrew Nurnberg Associates</p></li><li><p>Sylvie Zannier Literary Scouting</p></li><li><p>Forage Literary</p></li><li><p>Daunts Books Summertown</p></li></ul><p>The scheme supports one mentee, however <strong>shortlisted candidates will be offered six-months of one-to-one virtual mentoring with a member of the FBA team</strong>, who can offer advice about the industry, an insight into the work of literary agencies, and help reviewing CVs and cover letters.</p>]]></description>

         <title>Civil Service (GAP) Graduate Aspiration Programme</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>THE PROGRAMME IS CURRENTLY PAUSED FOR 25/26. MORE DETAILS WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN SPRING 2026  </strong></p><p>The Graduate Aspiration Programme (GAP) matches university undergraduates with civil servants who work across the Civil Service in occupations/professions the student is interested in. </p><p><br/></p><p>Mentees are encouraged to talk about their career aspirations and any opportunities or barriers to help focus conversations to improve their skills and gain knowledge.</p><p><br/></p><p>The GAP Mentoring Scheme involves a six-month commitment, November to April where mentors/mentees will meet via Microsoft Teams video call or phone call at least once per month. We also expect that there will be some email contact over the course of the mentoring period. Mentors may wish to invite their mentees to shadow them at work, take part in a site visit or attend meetings to observe their role (if appropriate).</p><p><br/></p><p>The programme aims to build confidence, aspiration and support future career choices, as well as enhancing communication skills and building new networks. </p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Criteria</strong></p><ul><li><p>Students must come from lower socio-economic backgrounds to take part in the programme. </p></li></ul><p><br/></p><p>For more information contact the Careers &amp; Employability Service or email </p><p><a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="mailto:socialmobility@justice.gov.uk">socialmobility@justice.gov.uk</a>.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The EqualEngineers Pathways Programme is designed to bridge the gap between academic studies and professional success, illuminating the route with mentoring, skills development, and real-world experience.</p><p><br></p><p>Mentoring takes place over a year, and often continues until the student graduates. In the first 12 months, students also participate in a supporting programme of activities including:</p><ul><li><p>In-person career insights and employability workshops.</p></li><li><p>Online programmes supporting students on work readiness, emotional intelligence, employability, and interpersonal skills development.</p></li><li><p>Work experience, placement, internship and graduate opportunities from engineering and technology partners.</p></li></ul><p>The Pathways Programme is not just for Engineers. Many employers fill their engineering and other technical roles from a range of disciplines, particularly graduates of Computing, Mathematics and the Physical Sciences. </p>]]></description>
