Jane Eyre follows the emotions and experiences of a young orphan who was cheated out of a life of comfort and love. The book describes Jane Eyre's growth and development to adulthood, her pain and loneliness, and her love for Edward Rochester, the byronic owner of Thornfield Hall, who hides a deep dark secret.

A wonderful, heartfelt story about a young woman well beyond her time. The book uses complex vocabulary, language, metaphors, and imagery. An excellent example of the Gothic genre.

It contains classic elements of a coming-of-age story while also encouraging readers to reflect on some pretty serious topics. There's also a good bit of humor mixed in, though, too! Jeff Woodman did a great job narrating the audiobook version. ~Erika
