Act II of the Tragedy of Julius Caesar provides Shakespeare with a unique opportunity to express the theme that the people will go to great lengths to do what they believe is right in times of political turmoil.

The night time meeting at Brutus's house is the best fit for the setting of Act II's theme because Its dark and it seems like hes the only one in the house when the group arrived. The play describes the setting when Brutus says "Lucius, are you there? I can’t tell by the position of the stars how near it is to daybreak." When Brutus says this it means he cant see Lucius because of how dark it is.

The best characterization that fits this theme is that of Brutus. Brutus is willing to kill Caesar because he feels as though that is the right decision, and he will do it because of the political turmoil going on with Caesar. When Brutus says, "The only way is to kill Caesar. I have no personal reason to strike at him—only the best interest of the people. "

Dialogue

The dialogue that supports this theme is when Decius convinces Caesar and manipulates him to go to the Capital because it shows how willing he is to betray Caesars trust and to kill Caesar for the better of Rome. like when Decius says " This dream has been interpreted all wrong. It was a good and lucky vision. Your statue spouting blood through many holes, in which many smiling Romans bathed, means that you’ll provide great Rome with sustaining blood, and that great men will strive to get some token of approval from your holy blood."

The mood in that supports this theme is dark because they are plotting against Caesar, and the fact that Caesar might be king drives this dark mood to make them have to plan to kill him. William Shakespeare shows this when Brutus says "From the time when you decide to do something terrible to the moment you do it, everything feels unreal, like a horrible dream."

The meeting to kill Casar in Brutus's house is the action/event that is the best fit for this them because it shows how willing they are to kill Caesar for the good of Rome. they say this when Brutus says "Let’s carve him up like a dish fit for the gods, not chop him up like a carcass fit for dogs."
