The sneaky plan!

In both stories, they had a sneaky plan to be together. However, the reason they are having to sneak out and be in grave danger is because their parents rules wont allow them to be together. In "Romeo and Juliet," Juliet's plan was to take a potion that Friar gave her to make her seem dead, and Romeo would be there when she woke up. However, Romeo didn't get word of the plan, and thought that she was actually dead. This caused him great sorrow and led him to kill himself. When Juliet awoke from her potion, she saw that Romeo was dead, and killed herself to be with her lover as well. As Juliet says in "Romeo and Juliet" (2.2.45-47) "Some Romeo would, where he not Romeo called, Retain that dear perfection which he owes without a title." This shows that Juliet wanted Romeo to change his name, because that was the only way they could be together due to their parents rules. Then In "Pyramus and Thisbe," they were going to sneak out and meet each other in person. However when Thisbe got to the place they were going to meet, she saw a lion and ran away dropping her cloak in the action. The lion tore it to pieces. When Pyramus came and saw the torn cloak, he assumed Thisbe was dead, so he killed himself to be with her. When Thisbe returned from hiding she saw that Pyramus was dead, so she killed herself as well. As it says in Pyramus and Thisbe, " They decided they would sneak out that very night." (Ovid 974) This means that because of their parents rules, they had to sneak out to talk in person instead of having yo be in danger.

Romeo and Juliet loved each other based on their appearances. Pyramus and Thisbe love each other based on their personalities.

From the moment Romeo saw Juliet he knew that he loved her. When Romeo saw Juliet he said,"Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight! For ne'er saw true beauty till this night."(1,5,50-51) Their love could be considered shallow because they had never spoken each other, nonetheless, they still loved each other. They tried to find ways to communicate with each other, but most of their attempts failed. Miscommunication and their shallow love caused their demise. However, Pyramus and Thisbe only communicated through a chink in the wall. They were divided by a wall and by their parents' wishes. In the first paragraph it says,"They longed to marry, but their parents forbade. Love however, cannot be forbidden." (Ovid 947) Pyramus and Thisbe had great communication skills. Their timing caused their demise.
