   from what I could tell the aunt seems to either feel that Adeline was a good child and should be treated that way but maybe inside she felt angry,confused or sad in general be cause she thought that there might be a relation between Adeline’s birth and her moms death

Aunt Baba seems to change the topic because Adeline was talking about her dead mom and and aunt baba seems to feel the topic is to taboo and sad so to shift the focus she tells Adeline to wash her hands because she was from outside so it was probably dirty and Aunt baba told her to wash her hands so she could do her home work

Adeline was hated by her blood related siblings and step mother we can see it when even if she won a medal she won’t get much praise
