For outdoor architectural photography, I have paid close attention to the time of day and the quality of natural light. Golden hour, just after sunrise and before sunset, provides a warm, soft light that beautifully highlights the textures and details of buildings. By planning my shoots around these times, I have been able to capture stunning images that showcase the architecture in its best light. Additionally, I have employed techniques such as HDR (High Dynamic Range) imaging to manage the contrast between the bright sky and darker building details. For instance, I brought and used portable LED lights to illuminate darker areas without overpowering the ambient light, carefully hiding between the rows of chairs so not to appear in the photographs. This careful balance helps to maintain the serene atmosphere typical of church interiors while ensuring that details are visible.

In Photoshop, I have employed convergence techniques to enhance my images further. By combining different layers and using tools such as blending modes, I can create a more dynamic final product. For example, I took a well-exposed photo of the church's interior and blended it with another shot that captures the vibrant colours of the stained glass windows and of the church organ. This approach allows me to emphasise the beauty of these features while maintaining the integrity of the overall composition.

Another important aspect of my technique involves perspective correction. Architectural photography often suffers from distortion, especially when shooting tall buildings or intricate interiors. I utilised Photoshop's perspective correction tools to straighten lines and ensure that the architecture appears as intended. Regarding exterior photography, the church elders expressed enthusiasm for the inclusion of aerial imagery in the documentary record, and were happy to give their permission to use a drone.
