Teemu Selänne is the best finnish hockey player ever. He played in the NHL and he was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame. In 1451 games he got 1457 points in the NHL. In the NHL he played in Winnipeg Jets, Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks and Colorado Avalanche. He has won one Stanley Cup, Calder Trophy (rookie of the year) and some other awards. He is holding record in most goals by a rookie (NHL), most points by a rookie (NHL) and most goals in Olympic competition (career).

Kaisa-Leena Mäkäräinen (born 11 January 1983) is a Finnish biathlete, who currently competes for Kontiolahden Urheilijat. Outside sports, Mäkäräinen is currently studying to be a Physics teacher at the University of Eastern Finland in Joensuu. Her team coach is Jonne Kähkönen, while Jarmo Punkkinen is her ski coach.

Matti Eino Nykänen (born 17 July 1963) is a Finnish former ski jumper who competed from 1981 to 1991. Widely considered to be the greatest male ski jumper of all time, he won five Winter Olympics medals, nine World Championship medals, and 22 Finnish Championship medals. Most notably, he won three gold medals at the 1988 Winter Olympics, becoming, along with Yvonne van Gennip of the Netherlands, the most successful athlete at that event.

Matti Antero Kristian Fagerholm (born on 17th of June 1962 in Helsinki) is a finnish musician. He gained his popularity by being the frontman of the legendary Hanoi Rocks (1980-85). After Hanoi Rocks broke up, he immediately began his solo career and has since been successful. He had many other bands before and after Hanoi Rocks, but not many of them have been as successful as Hanoi Rocks. They reformed in 2001 and broke up again in 2009. Michael has also been a judge in X-Factor and The Voice of Finland.

Artturi Ilmari Virtanen (15 January 1895 – 11 November 1973) was a Finnish chemist and recipient of the 1945 Nobel Prize in Chemistry "for his research and inventions in agricultural and nutrition chemistry, especially for his fodder preservation method".
He invented AIV silage which improved milk production and a method of preserving butter, the AIV salt, which led to increased Finnish butter exports.
