I majored in Communication at USU and got my Masters in Comm at the UA. I grew up in Salt Lake City and was moved north to Logan when I was 12. Since then I've lived in Idaho, Virginia, Florida, and Arizona.

Something I know about : is the Chinese practice of Chi Gong (qigong) and the way it can heal, strengthen, and transform the human body in ways both interesting and beneficial (Not to mention mind-blowing!).

Something interesting: In 2011, as an undergrad, I went to China to study abroad (Do study abroad if there is any, any way you can manage it. It's worth it). While I was there, I went to the park every morning at 7 am (I had to climb over the fence surrounding the university and walk across the street). There I saw a magnificent display of small groups.

There were groups dancing in different styles, playing with their children, toss a yoyo like toy in the air, catching it on a cord, and doing fancy tricks, and other demonstrations of people engaged in various cultural skills that are strange to our American eyes. There was also a full, volunteer community orchestra including a full choir -- outside, right there in the park. Amazing.

I joined in with a large group of people doing Tai Chi (Taiji Chuan) and Chi Gong. When I came back home, I kept on practicing and learning about these ancient Chinese practices. I probably know the most about baseball. I had pitched for about my entire life and even had an offer to play for GCU until I tore my ACL and PCL in a collision at the plate and had to spend the rest of my senior year doing physical therapy. I still have the love of the game, and even help coach the pitchers at my old high school. I loved being the "captain" of the team during the days that I pitched, and I think that me pitching lead to my position as a lead over at GCBC, the on-campus coffee shop.

One interesting fact about me is that I have been to 9 different major league ballparks and 22 different minor league parks. I know quite a bit about antimicrobial testing of different plants to determine better medicinal plants to use in pharmaceuticals. I like the act of lab work as well as analysis after the fact because it has clear goals, and at the end of constant trial and error I may find a result I don’t necessarily anticipate.

I also spend a lot of time painting (oil, acrylic, and water) and aerial (trapeze and lyra/hoop mostly). I love things the make my mind and body more focused and utilized.

I like sculpting but I spent most of my time throwing. I liked the challenge of it because risk does pay off greatly. Also it was very relaxing as you had to be incredibly focused.

A skill I learned in high school that I enjoy a lot is playing the guitar. No matter how many hours I put into learning different songs or techniques there is always more to learn about that instrument. Something unusual about me is that a little over a year ago I tripped and busted my face open but didn't receive any concussions or brain damage at all from the fall. A plastic surgeon stitched me up and now no one can even see the scar. Something unusual about myself is that I live really close to my relatives, where they live right across the street from where I live. I have 23 cousins, in which we all attended the same grade schools and high school, so it was really nice always having them there to hang out at school and even at home.

Hello! My major is psychology. I’ve lived in 7 different states. I moved around a lot when I was younger. When I was 8, I moved to Arizona. I stayed until I was 18, so I’d say I grew up here.

Something I know a lot about it music. This is my 4th semester at GCU, but my first semester as a psychology major. Prior to this, I was a music performance major. Music is something I am very good at and that I love to do, but I recently realized it is not something I want to do as a career. Music is interesting to me because it is a part of me. It allows me to feel freely and be able to express myself in a way that I cannot in any other way. It is also interesting to me because it is a lot more complex than most people realize. Studying music theory is quite difficult.

Something unusual about me is I play a lot of instruments. About 8 I think. Mostly, I play trombone and piano.

I pretty much love everything that I get the chance to be involved in, whether that be sports or music or photography or graphic design. That's why I had such a hard time choosing a major. I know a lot about music, I grew up playing piano, violin, singing, and taught myself how to play the guitar (one of my goals this year is to spend a lot more time bettering my skills though). I know a lot about soccer, I played competitively all throughout my life, and wanted to compete at a collegiate level but tore my acl on my senior night game during high school.

I love being outdoors and being in nature. I love Jesus and its dope to see how big God is nature and its cool to see his design in nature. I also love students and really love getting to hang out with and pour into middle and high school kids.

Dancing is super interesting to me because I was able to learn so many different styles and each dance that I was a part of had an entirely different story and special meaning behind it, whether it was tap, jazz, ballet, musical theater, lyrical, or hip-hop. I love that dance gave me many different ways to express myself and it was an outlet for me.

My dad is an oyster farmer in addition to helping on the farm in the summers I (along with my siblings) helped with chickens, garden up keep, goats, ducks and bees.
