Something interesting about me is that I have lived in Angola for 6 years. When I have born my family was living in Angola due to my fathers job so I lived there until I have one year old and then we went back to living in Angola in 2018 and we stayed for the next 5 years. Due to this experience I am now very passionate in fishing and in traveling around the world to get to see new cultures and new places. I used to be very shy but thanks to moving schools so much in the last 7 years, I have been in 4 different schools and university since moving to Angola, I have now become a much more outgoing person and much more confident. Apart from fishing and traveling I also love football and I am a huge Real Madrid fan as well as my whole family. I also used to play football in school as a goalkeeper, however, once I started university I no longer had neither time nor a place to play so I stopped but I would like to get back to it sometime.

Personally, I consider myself a very collaborative and creative person who likes to think outside the box and tries to look at things from different angles. I think that these traits come from being an international student and having been surrounded with so many cultures and mindsets, specially during my time in Angola.

I was born in Madrid, Spain and I live in Pozuelo de Alarcón.

I study 2nd grade in the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid where I study agroenviromental engineering.

I live with my father and brother, and also I have one pet wich is a river turtle.

I used to play football when I was 10 years old but now I only go to the gym with my best friend Julian.

The name of the highschool where I went is Gerardo Diego. There I met some good friends and I still talk with some of them.

I am very shy and it is very difficult for me to make new friends, but I am very funny instead. My birthday is on 19th of January.

In summer I always go to La Manga, Murcia because I go there with my family since I was a kid.

I love football in general it doesn’t matter if I watch it or if I play it. I also like a lot when my friends call me for going out all of us.

My name is Iciar Cañego Martin. I am 19 years old and I was born in Madrid. I have a brother, he is three years older than me, he has just graduated in his degree which is building management and he has just started working with my mum.

I am from the outskirts of Madrid. I have studied in the same school, which is Colegio San Agustin Los Negrales, until 12th grade that I went to study abroad for 10 months. I lived in a little town called Minong in Wisconsin. While I was there I played volleball and I became the basketball assistant. That was a really fulfilling year, where I met incredible people and I can’t wait to go back and visit everyone. I used to be more shy but thanks to being an exchange student helped me a lot in this aspect.

I love being around my loved one's, spending time with my family and friends. I really like traveling the world because when you go somewhere new you become more open minded, grow as a person and of course learn new things about different cultures.

I am currently enrolled in the UPM, in a degree of agroenviromental engineering and I hope I can finish it with all my goals accomplished and having grown more as a person.

As I have mentioned before I am currently studying agroenviromental engineering at the politecnical university of Madrid, and I am currently in my second year. Academicly I can say that it is going really well as last year I obtained three honours mentions in the subjects of physics 1, physics 2 and economics; and I have an average of 8.4.

At the beginning of the year they granted me the move to energy engineering, however, I decided to stay in this degree as it would allow me to still do all I am interested in professionally but from a different angle as the more conventional route. Within agroenviromental engineering, the part I am most interested is agroenergetics and how to ensure that we implement green energy technologies in a sustainable way that doesn’t harm the environment. Due to this I am planing on continuing this course, chowing as electives the ones that have to do the most with energy and energy production and management, and then doing a masters in renewable energy. This way I will still be dedicated the energy sector, which is my preferred one, and stay in this course which I also find very interesting.

If I am not able to follow this plan, there are also other paths I am interested within this degree including water filtration and management or research and development in the agricultural sector.

I currently do not have any profesional experience but I’m planing on getting a job either in a catering service or as event staff.

I have an older sister, with whom I live with, since my parents moved away for work. My mum is a housewife and my dad is an engineer.

My hobbies include reading, baking, dancing and horse riding. I have also been playing the piano since I was 8 years old. One of my goals in life is to travel around the world and learn about multiple cultures. I am an optimistic person who enjoys being around the people I love and confide in. I also like being with animals.

I went to primary school in Madrid, in a school named Eugenio Maria de Hostos. Afterwards, I completed my six years of High School in IES Isaac Newton. In 2022, I started the degree of Telecommunications Engineering, but after two years I realized it was not what I liked, so I decided to change paths and start the Agroenvironmental Engineering degree. It was a hard decision and it made me think about my future and what I would want to work in.

I hope I can learn a lot in this class and get ready for my future professional life.

The subject I liked the most last year was Geology, because I learnt so much about how our planet is made of and about how it has been through many transformations. Another reason is beacuse I obtained a honour mention and that made me so proud of myself.

At this point of my life I only study and I don’t have a work because I am focused on myself in order to get good grades.

I don’t have a professional experience at all but when I finish this grade I want to work as soon as possible.

After finishing high school, I started the Telecommunications Engineering degree, but decided to change careers and I am currently enrolled in the Agroenvironmental Engineering degree in the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. I am still in my second year of university but I am really excited to see what the future holds for me in this field.

Regarding my professional experience, I have had multiple different jobs. All of the following have been summer jobs, since during the academic year I am focused on my studies.

When I was 17, I volunteered in a religious campaign as a receptionist, my daily tasks were talking to clients, managing appointments and organizing documents.

When I was 19, I started taking care of children and looking after them. For this job, I usually went to the client's house and took care of their kids. My daily tasks were going to the park, drawing, doing crafts and sometimes cooking.

This year, I worked for a month in an artificial intelligence start-up as an assistant. I managed their social media, attended meetings and helped with daily tasks.

I do not have a clear idea of what I would like to do in the future, I still have to investigate more about the possibilities in my field. I am excited to contribute to the world with my ideas and make a positive impact.

I am enrolled in the UPM in a degree of agroenviromental engineering. This, wasn’t my first choice but I am really happy that things turned out this way. At first I wanted to study Biomedical engineering, but I didn’t get in. So I started this degree thinking about changing, but I ended up informing myself about this degree and I liked it too.

I still have some doubts of what I want to do in the future because I am not sure of which areas I am going to enjoy more, but in one of them that I am interested in is is the renewable energy’s, agroenviromental technologies.

As to my professional experience, I have taken care of kids and currently I am working in an academy giving English classes twice a week. I really enjoy this job because I like kids and I am passionate about English I think it is a really important language in our nowadays life and this opens a lot of opportunities when you want to get a job in the future.
