We learned that the cardboard made the car go the fastest because it had the least amount of friction. Wax paper had the second longest distance, and I knew that sandpaper would be last because of how rough it is. But wax paper did come pretty close to the cardboard. My prediction was correct about all three of the materials. I knew that cardboard would be first because of how smooth it is. I knew that wax paper would be second because it wouldn't beat cardboard but I knew that it would beat sandpaper.

In my group, the car went the farthest on cardboard. It went the shortest on sand paper and middle on wax paper. I think I know why. The sandpaper has the most friction, so it stopped the car. The wax paper was kind of sticky, so it had the second most amount of friction. The cardboard has the least amount of friction and s a smooth surface, o the car went the farthest. So that's why the car went the farthest on card board.

In my group the car went farthest on cardboard. I think is the case because it has the lowest amount of friction. Friction slows the car down so it doesn't go as far. That is why it went the shortest on sandpaper. It has a very rough surface so it has more friction then the smooth cardboard. So, the rougher the surface, the slower it goes, and the shorter it goes. BY Anonymous,

My group learned that the car went farthest on cardboard because the cardboard has a smooth surface and has the least amount of friction. The car went the least farthest on the sandpaper because the sandpaper is bumpy and has the most amount of friction. That means that the car went the second farthest on the wax paper because the wax paper is made out of wax and when wax drys it gets a little bumpy, but not as bumpy as sandpaper. So we found out that the car went the farthest on cardboard.

I thought the wax paper would have the least amount of friction against the car because it's nice and smooth, but it turns out the cardboard had the least amount of friction against the car. I expected the sandpaper to have the most friction against the car, and it did I was not surprised at all. That is what I learned about that friction experiment, I hope you found that helpful.

It was surprising that the cardboard wasn't the farthest for the car even though it was the smoothest.
