An artist that I really appreciate and listen to quite often is Ariana Grande. I believe that she is such a talented singer and that her songs are easy to relate to and understand. I don't think I really "cultivate" this relationship, but I do listen to her albums at least once or twice a week. I've been listening to her music for quite some time now. I think it's been four or five years since she first started singing and i have followed her along the way. I've watched her grow as a person and a singer, and listened to her mature in the same ways as well. Listening to her for all these years, I've paid attention to the content of her songs, and I have realized that the content is more intense and the lyrics are more "grown up" sounding than they used to be. I thought a good example of an artist from the book is that of Mariah Carey. Her voice is incredibly unique, because of her wide vocal range. She can sing incredibly low and also incredibly high, something most artists can't really do. A good example of a song by her that showcases this is "Emotions". Her range varies a lot, especially towards when it hits a particularly high note.
